Hello
I am new to Ebay as a seller at least, and I have one question. I started listing at the beginning of September and have been told I have reached my 10 item a month limit. However when I look at my selling page there is a September through October promotion that states I have 250 free listings with with 242 left. I am unable to post anymore listings due to having already had 10 items listed. My question is do these promotions only apply to specific types of sellers like stores, or am I just doing something wrong here? I asked for a limit increase, but was denied which I guess was by automation. Kinda hard to get started in this and see if it is a viable thing for me to do with just 10 measly listings a month for an unknown amount of time. I have sold 8 out of 10 products listed, all were shipped within 24 hours or less and delivered.
Thank You

The 250 free listings apply to ALL sellers without a store. Anything AFTER the standard 250 cost money to list.
This only applies to the charge for creating a listing.
It is a not a guarantee that you can list 250 listings..JUST THAT THE FIRST 250 are free.
IT is NOT near the same thing as your personal selling limits.
Sellers have personal selling limits in the 1000's and are still charged the listing fee after the first 250 free listings are used up.

You may have 250 free listings, but as a new seller, you are limited to ten. When you've met eBay's criteria, you may request to have your limits raised.
It's really a great idea to read eBay's help pages on any topic that touches on selling before you start listing on eBay, or you may find yourself in for some more unexpected surprises--not all of which will be welcome.

All sellers get the 250 free listings. This means they will pay a listing fee on the 251st listing they create.
All new sellers have limits to the number of listings/value of listings they can create. This limitation prevents new sellers from getting anywhere near that 250 mark.
When you become established, showing eBay you understand how eBay works and you can deliver good customer service on a consistent basis, your limits will be lifted.
eBay selling can be a mine field. The limits prevent new sellers from getting in over their heads to where eBay has to bail them out.
Selling is more than just listing and delivering. Starting out with limits will ease you into issues that may arise.
Walmart didn’t start out with mega stores every mile and a half. They started with the very basics and expanded. New eBay sellers have the same path.

Thank you for the response. I did read through all the new sellers and listing information however when it comes to the monthly selling promotions it does not say anything about it not applying to new sellers which is all I was really wanting to know. It also does not state when your account limits are reset for the new month, so I am not sure if it will reset on October 1st or on a rolling schedule from the day you started on the previous month.

Your limit will reset on the 1st of the month.
If your limit is 10 a month and you have 2 items that didn't sell this month, next month when they renew, it'll count against your monthly limit.
If you have 2 items renew next month, you can list 8 new items.
