I recently had an item get either lost or stolen. So the buyer opened a claim. Which I quickly resolved and gave an instant refund. But I have 2 questions that I haven't been able to find direct answers to. One as a seller when this happens. Do I get any type of refund myself for this item ? Or is it basically sorry buddy but your S out of luck lol. Also after this happened I noticed that my funds have now been put back on hold until my items are delivered. Which kind of has me upset. I have a perfect seller and buyer score. Nothing but good positive feedback and the issue was something out of my control. So this does not seem fair to me at all. Especially when I not only lost an item that I get no refund myself and now have to wait longer to receive funds again. Any feedback or help with either is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

The proper procedure is to upload the tracking number. After that, either the package will arrive or else the case will time out, in your favor. Then eBay will refund the buyer. This is one of the rare instances of an eBay policy that benefits the seller. It was a mistake for you to issue a refund.

You are responsible to get the item to the purchaser as far as the address given you. If t dont get there or tracking gets lost in the mess> you are out the goods, money payed for it and the shipping.
It part of selling and shipping, such loss can and does happen..
Insurance on shed items may cover lost or stolen packages. Has become a major problem with broken or damaged good though...
Oh and since you refunded: and the item still may show up: they do not have to return it to you:
A honest buyer will or will pay you: dont hold your breath for such.
