Has anyone heard from eBay about our complaints about the new listing tool?
I absolutely dread doing listings now. It is so glitchy and it takes too many clicks to do anything.
Item specifics are a nightmare. I'd rather get a root canal than add a brand name from a search menu.
CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK
You can't even press enter to accept the brand name you typed in. Please ebay, just leave a text box open for brand and MPN. These are required for every listing, so every listing I do has to have an absurd amount of more clicks just to add brand and part number.
My entire internet slows down when I crop or change the brightness of the pictures. Change the category and sometimes the page randomly refreshes, losing all my work.
I am a professional lister. This is my day job and my profession. Listing items on eBay is how I pay the bills, and I am frankly insulted and dumbfounded by these changes. Not only does it dumb down the listing process, it is so time consuming to do the most basic things that I am avoiding them completely.
I am no longer editing my photos because it takes too long and slows my internet to a halt. I am no longer adding any item specifics other than the required ones because the process is just so clunky and complicated.
I have 10,000 items in my warehouse ready to be listed, and I am dreading it due to this slow, ugly, click click click show of a new listing tool. All I want to know is if eBay is hearing our cries.

If you are hearing loud and clear why in God's name are you still moving forward with lighting speed to launch this non working program. For Sellers with a few items or are hobby Seller I'm sure this is a no problem issue with the change. However I am a business with a 70K overhead monthly with 4100 listings on the platform. This new listing tool will grind us to a halt and cause that overhead to go up. I'm so glad I made the decision to move business five years ago and now have only 15% of our business on eBay. If we were to have 100% of our business on the platform this new listing tool would probably put us out of business. This would be the last straw of the many ill launched programs in the past two years all of which have cost the Sellers dearly in lost profits, lost cash flow and lost productivity in having to manage the not ready new systems. All of these systems were to enhance the Buyer or Seller experience, none of which did that. You ran off Buyers and Sellers, you enriched yourself taking profits from Seller, and you have done nothing to allow the platform to grow organically. All this from a 22 year Seller. Sad

@siamjane8 wrote:I do believe they are hearing us. In fact ebay reached out to me yesterday and we had an hour long zoom meeting with 6 various members of the design teams- so I would like to thank them publicly and give credit where credit is due. They were very receptive to finding out why and what are the problems that we are facing with using the tool on a desktop and I was able to share my screen and do a random listing from scratch to show them trouble points with the popups and the extra clicks and the mobile UI in general that just does not work on a desktop.
They seemed very aware of the issues we have been reporting so I would say- continue with these discussions and sending up the feedback. The more they hear and the more pressure we apply- the greater chance we have of getting this tool redesigned for use on a computer.
@siamjane8 Thank you for posting that but here's the issue ... they should have known about the problems long before they ever launched the tool ... their SOP has historically been to launch a half baked program, bury Sellers in frustration and then ask us to help them figure out the mess ... like DON'T any of them Sell there on any kind of a volume basis????

Have you seen ANYTHING marked "beta" in the past two years? The code word in industry for "testing, not final version"? I have NOT.

Maybe somebody is trying to justify their job but making things a lot worse for everybody.

The New tool for listing is a royal pain in the backside! Please return to the former listing tool.

Use sell similar when doing new listings. Just revise the title and the existing specifics and it works fast and easy.

I use the new listing tool on my mobile and the application works very well on mobile. Actually MUCH MUCH BETTER on mobile, but we do not use desktop so I have no idea how that is impacting people on a regular PC.

So then they should have a mobile version and a desktop version. Using in on a desktop is an absolute nightmare. It took too long before with the item description additions and now it takes even longer. I had a stock pile of items I only sell on my secondary selling account and after seeing this new listing tool I completely abandoned the idea and am tempted to just let the account sit and rot with hopes they allow me to revert to classic.
Time is money and as it sits now it takes far too long for what I sell to list with the current tool I was forced into. Luckily my main account is still in classic and I'll continue to go as normal until that is forced over than I don't know what I'll do. I couldn't even get photos to drag in the order I wanted them to. It would take 20-30 attempts sometimes before a picture would drag properly unless I was dragging one spot to the left or one spot to the right.
I couldn't imagine listing items where many item specifics are actually needed on a mobile device. I sell parts and many parts have dozens of compatible MPNs, brands, models, ect. It would be such a pain in the butt. If the thing is designed for mobile keep it on mobile and let us old timers keep using our desktops/laptops with classic.
Why do we need to make a hundred clicks/windows to enter the same information when on classic it was only a dozen or so clicks on one page? Because it looks cooler? I'm sure a lot of work went into the new style but sometimes you have to admit something just isn't going to work and scrap it. Or allow people to opt out and keep the old style. Stop fixing things that aren't broke.

I list on my desktop and it honestly hasn't made a difference to me in terms of how long it takes to list. If anything, the photo uploader is actually faster now than it was before.

Jasmen,
It does not appear that anyone at eBay is listening. The new listing tool is some of the worst web design I have ever encountered. Why would eBay management choose to force this on users?

I totally agree with you for keeping the PC version AND just adding the mobile version. Why would that be so difficult?!? I understand that they need to move forward with phone apps since so many people shop on them now. My problem is I macular degeneration and I HAVE to use my laptop to list, with enhanced visual aids to help me. If they keep making a new listing so time consuming, I'm just going to have to quit due to the added stress and frustration. There is only so MUCH change a half blind, 70 year old can deal with. Sigh.

After more than a decade on eBay, I've finally resigned to the fact that eBay doesn't care about me. I'm actually pretty sad about it. I have to come to work every day and re-live the neglect.

@vintagecraze50 Glad to hear it works great on mobile, that's the thrust of its design ... to work on mobile devices ... where it falls short is on PCs ... horrible functionality and experience ... I think a large number of the folks complaining here are using PCs not mobile devices ...
They need two tools - one for mobile and one for PCs ... that is only common sense ...
