New and zero feedback buyer, safe to ship?

Hello! First, I'm an old time eBuyer, since 2006, but new seller, this is my second sale.

So I've listed an iMac at $300, requiring inmediate payment. Today a customer bought the item, paying the $300 + the $40 flat shipping fee I choose for the item.

The buyer just created the account with a weird name, something like brent39480_jhlhadda.

The funds are on hold on Paypal, because I don't sell much on eBay, so I've got the 21-day hold.

The first item I sold a few years ago it was an old eBuyer with good feedback, so no problem at all, but this is a new buyer with no feedback at all.

I've specified in the item listing that I do not accept returns, item will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with Adult Signature Confirmation and Insurance.

It is safe to ship the item? I've read countless of scammer cases out there and I don't want to get in trouble.

How does Signature Confirmation protect you more than regular tracking?

I know that selling used stuff on eBay is always a concern, but I needed to be sure.

Money shows that it is my Paypal account, only with a weird funds availability date, Dec. 31, 1969. It says OK to ship though.

Hope everything works out well. Anyways the guy lives 2.5 hours from my address, I can as well go to fight

Because I can left out the "Package not received claim", stating that the item was dropped to an actual person and not left in the door where it can be stolen. Besides the address it's in an apartment, so better safe than sorry.

Any buyer on eBay can steal any item from any seller at any time, as long as he does not make a mistake while stealing it. There is no way to protect your money.

As far as a buyer filing a SNAD, a tracking status of "delivered" carries the same weight as "signature confirmation". If you are paying $7 for signature confirmation, that money is not buying you anything that you can use to fight a problem with eBay.

Does your buyer know that the item is coming with signature confirmation, and that he may have to drive to the carrier to pick it up?

Some buyers get very ticked off if you make them go out of their way, and this could actually cause a buyer problem rather than prevent it.

eBay protects the seller if the package is stolen off the porch after delivery.

I've sold quite a few things to (0) Buyers, for more than your order, without issue.  We've been scammed by Buyers with higher counts then (0) ... chances are things will go smoothly for you ... at least that is the hope ...

As to the $$ being on hold ... it may become available 3-5 days after tracking shows it delivered ... but I would let it sit in your PP account for a while in the unlikely event of a return.

fyi: be sure YOU undersatnd the ebay policy on returns/refunds.... YOU maynot accept returns, but YOU will refund if they were to open a case, and pay shipping back, if the case states it...so be sure YOU know really what can happen and understand it what the ebay policy and procedures say that will YOU will follow.

as for a being new...we all were at one time...weird id? well..that's weird to say...and their address was it verified in PAYPAL? did you google it and see if and what you get?

are you goinf to insure the item...in case it were to be damaged or lost by the shipper? 

these are the items to know and plan on , Befgore you list and sell an item.....and before you actually ship it....if you feel nervous, ot in doubt --then you might not send and cancel the transaction....BUT that will ding YOUR account and not a good thing, BUT you have to feel confident.

Here's the reason for that date ... 

If you’ve ever had the date on a cell phone or computer mysteriously switch to December 31, 1969, you may have thought it was simply random. But the reason behind this odd glitch is a nice little tidbit of computer trivia.

Unix is a computer operating system that, in one form or another, is used on most servers, workstations, and mobile devices. It was launched in November 1971 and, after some teething problems, the “epoch date” was set to the beginning of the decade, January 1, 1970. What this means is that time began for Unix at midnight on January 1, 1970 GMT. Time measurement units are counted from the epoch so that the date and time of events can be specified without question. If a time stamp is somehow reset to 0, the clock will display January 1, 1970.
