So now per Andrew Coumo if your in New York State and your in public you must wear a mask and yes, this does include fabric masks. Fabric masks are completely washable. Your not going to catch a virus from the mask. Your going to catch it from someone who is not wearing one.
So where do you expect everyone in NYS to find a mask? There are none in stores. Time for ebay to lift their ban and let anyone who wants to list them list them. As far as price gouging, the more competition of people listing them, the lower the prices will be. Competition has a way of doing that. People can search and find lowest to highest afterall.
Ebay, wake up!

Hi @crafter_at_heart, we've just made an announcement on this topic 🙂 You'll find the details here: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/eBay-is-inviting-sellers-to-list-cloth-face-masks/ba-p/3...

While NYS has one very large crowed city - it does not represent what is going on in the other 49 states and US protectorates.

Since you can't sell them here, sell them local.

What's this response even mean? People are being infected in ALL 50 states and should be protecting themselves.

No it is not time for eBay to lift its ban! Better yet have all those initial price gouging sellers and all those hoarders of product donate ALL their product to NY.
Not everyone is needing to go out in public so not everyone is needing a mask.
And if there had been more of an initial preparedness, there would not be all this hype right now.
Folks just need to calm down, take a deep breath, be sensible and logic.
A layered homemade fabric mask can be made by anyone, even a child is capable of that. There is no need to get all excited and carried away with spending money on something so simple.

Won't happen, surely you don't expect eBay to watch listings and monitor for price gouging. It's the eBay way to take the easiest route possible, and that is banning these altogether in this situation.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for people making their own masks, and I applaud them for doing so. But what about those who can't or don't have the materials to do so.

NY isn't the only place which legally requires wearing a mask.
That people can't make and sell masks on ebay is just broken.

Maybe it makes more sense to allow people to make their own buy or make decisions, based on their own factors.

C'mon give folks a little credit...I highly doubt there are that many folks out there that can't improvise from a fabric/material within the home. This is the 21st century, not the cave-man era.

What would motivate stopping people from buying one if they preferred?

nothing stopping folks purchasing if they so desire... but y'all are making it sound like eBay is the only place in the whole wide world where one can and/or should purchase. Let's be sensible & logical here and stop the sky is falling tactics.
This is still eBay's site and if you don't like the rules & policies you are free to move on!

That's it. Not rocket science. Most any piece of cloth over the mouth, and nose will do it.
This does no stop someone from getting the virus. It stops those with the virus from spreading it.

Yesterday I was denied access to grocery shopping because I did not have a face mask, and even if I had one, or located one, the hours that I was eligible to shop was from 5-7 PM. It was noon. Double denied☹️
