New Years Eve day and sales are bonkers

Elsewhere that is.  Sometimes when I get down about low sales here I remind myself that my books are moving great on Amazon so it's not necessarily having bad books. Bad books for ebay maybe. I would really rather they sell here because the fees are much lower.

Strangely, it does seem like when sales are good one place, they are slower somewhere else.

I think it does pay off to spead your eggs out into several baskets...

I expect it'll pick up here for you.   I've been listing some books in series or chunks of the series.  Sales this time of year always seem to be good from buyers stocking on some good reading for the winter months.

My experience with/impression of Marketplace is that it's a better venue for books. As much as Amazon has diversified, it still has a strong core of book buyers. So even though the fees are higher, you'll sell more.

I'm glad you're selling well somewhere! Rather have that than selling well nowhere.Smiley Wink

I'll be pushing auctions which are usually book lots.  I have determined that I need auctions in the mix to achieve a halfway decent sales volume.  Some sell from the store but I get impatient waiting on those sales because they clutter my storage area badly. I'd rather move them out (at a reasonable price of course).

So far, 9 packages to go out Tuesday.  Only 2 of those are Etsy though ($49.90 total) and the other 7 are here on the 'bay ($122.68).  Of those 7, one of the packages is 6 items from a single buyer totalling $49.94, (various My Little Ponies).

I'm predicting that Tuesday's shipping run will be a drive instead of one of my 420 walks at 2:20.  😄

Now to get my final batch of Etsy listings for the year up and order this quarter's shipping supplies before the coupons expire.  🙂

And interestingly, on the weekend sales thus far, all 5 Basic stores are represented; nothing on either of the "overflow accounts" thus far.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

So far 20 going out Tuesday, and that is after shipping Saturday. I haven't collected my ebay orders yet. I'm hoping Monday will be good, too!

The fees on ebay are much lower than Amazon's. Maybe buyers tend to gravitate towards buying books on Amazon instead of ebay?

I always check both places. I like getting points with my Amazon credit card and sometimes a book I have my eye on on eBay will actually put me over the $35 limit (or whatever it is) for free shipping on Amazon.

My sales here for the whole weekend have been very good. I did have a sale on Amazon, which is a bonus because I only have about 10 items there and they aren't CDs/DVDs.

Surprisingly, my weekend sales since Saturday afternoon have actually been pretty good. I did not really expect anything at all, but sales have been trickling in all weekend to the tune of 6 outgoing packages (so far!) set for Tuesday morning. This month has been the best month for me EVER. I'm kinda flabbergasted, since I don't really sell gift items, mostly thrift store and estate sales finds.

I've always had really good luck with sales on New Years Day too!

A fabric shop here always was open on New Years day, and said that so many husbands wanted to just spend the day in front of football on TV, so many wives came out to their store to shop for fabrics, crafting supplies, and decor items that they had going there.

I guess lots of folks like to shop online then too.

That is fantastic!  Do you have a much larger inventory on Amazon, though, as compared to ebay, so that that would account for the huge difference in the number of sales you made there?

20 is good keziak, wtg.

My sales have dropped off now, but that's to be expected after the mad rush for Christmas kids stuff. Only 2 yesterday and 2 today.

Maybe now I can spend time listing rather than packing lol

You must be like a leprechaun spreading luck around with this post... just made a very large sale.
