New Rule? Markdowns

So my sales discount is now taking 4 days to appear on my listings - is that a new rule I missed?

Re: New Rule? Markdowns

Double check and make sure that you've set it to start now instead of some days out.

Other than that, I don't know. It's been a long time since I've done a markdown.

The new-ish rule as of last Fall is that it takes "up to 24 hours" for markdowns to start or end.

If it's taking 4 days then check the start times as the above poster suggested, and if that's not the problem then report the issue to customer service.

Absolutely agree.  And OP, please report back here once you check start times.  While eBay reps did spend months telling us "up to 24 hours" was normal, shortly after the holidays it seemed to go back to the old normal of 5-10 minutes.  If they are having problems again, I'd definitely be interested in the follow up from eBay.

Re: New Rule? Markdowns

thanks everyone - not there were no "start" times - just list when I submit.  Was kinda surprised when someone bought something sunday that I listed on friday and they paid the full price - great - I guess. So then I started looking and many were lagging behind.  I will call it it - thank you everyone.

Re: New Rule? Markdowns

Thanks for the follow up @dazzlecity .  One thing that might be helpful for eBay staff would be screenshots of the markdown manager showing the settings for the sale and also of the revision history on one of your items that you are seeing delays on.  That way they can see the time stamps that show when it was suppose to start or end vs when it actually did start or end.

I'm not doubting what you are saying at all, just sharing that I've had more luck in the past getting help from eBay support with documentation and providing them specific item numbers for examples.  If you aren't comfortable sharing those screenshots publicly, I'm sure you can send them in a private message to eBay staff here in the community as well.

brian@ebay  - can you please assist this seller?

Re: New Rule? Markdowns

Out of curiosity, I double checked the promos we had running over the weekend.

One promo was scheduled to end Monday at 2 AM PST, actual end time was 3:33:58 PST.  The other promo was scheduled to end Monday at 3 AM PST, actual end time was 3:51:41 PST.

That's not nearly as bad as the 15+ hour delays we were seeing a few months ago, but it is concerning because since mid-December we had gone back to only seeing 5-10 minute indexing times for both starting and ending.

I didn’t notice it because they were ended when I got into the office yesterday morning, so I assumed everything was working as scheduled like it has been again since December.

@mcdougle4248  - Did you have anything running over the weekend and/or have you noticed an increase in indexing times again?  Maybe there was an increase in traffic/load for the big game and the backlog was still being cleared out early Monday AM?

@autopiacarcare

I didn't have anything start or end over the weekend.   I did have one "start now" yesterday morning and it took 52 minutes to launch, which was longer than the 10 minutes or so I have been seeing lately.

Hi @dazzlecity, it looks like your Markdowns are all active now. Keep in mind that there can be a delay of up to 24 hours before a Markdown goes live. From what I can see you created several Markdowns within a short period of time, so it's unclear to me which one you are referring to.

If you run into more questions or problems with Markdowns then you can tag one of the Community to review it. However, the quickest way to have something like this reviewed is to contact customer service. You can call by using the 'Call us' link at the bottom of this page. We also have customer support on our eBay Facebook page and Askebay Twitter page
