I was researching something for a different post and opened the MBG page. There is a blurb about new timelines at the top ... with no announcement that I can find 😞

And also make sure you send it for goods and services and not personal if it is for return of an item.

Wouldn't you go to the original transaction to refund off that, for a "paper trail" attached to the transaction?

Bad idea. If you do that and the buyer escalates the case, the get a full refund on top of the money you sent via f&f

You can't do that for international returns, for just refunds, no problem

Sorry, for an international return, it is the only way to get the money to the buyer to pay for return postage and it is what Ebay tells you to do.
If the buyer does not return the merchandis, you can file a claim through Paypal for those funds.

Thank you for that, that's where I was going with that.

That is what I posted in regards to your false statement.
Exactly what are you doing?
May I ask how long you have been on Ebay?

Just meant it in the context of a non international return, but thank you!

@goodluckselling wrote:Seems like a buyer will need to hustle if they want to get a refund now. The time frame is 5 days after they have sent it back (acceptance scan)

That's what I said: Time to get it in the mail is still the same, five days, but receipt time has gone from 13 down to five. In other words, buyer has five days to get it in the mail, and five days after mailing for the package to return to the seller.
It was clear to me
So again, if it's not delivered to the seller by day six, will the case be closed in the seller's favor? SNAD, return, it shouldn't matter - if the seller doesn't have it in their hands, they shouldn't have to refund. Right? If the buyer is allowed a total of ten days (five to mail, five in transit from time of mailing) and the seller doesn't have it by EOD five, then on day six the seller should have the case closed in their favor.

Has anyone though that this is ebay going from 13 to 5 is their attempt to lower phony snad returns and buyer fraud in low key way?
Mark this date on your calendar, because I actually agree with you. That's what I'm sort of thinking, too.

tyler@ebay, brian@ebay- we're looking more information about these changes to the MBG. Specifically:
1. Why was there no announcement? Aside from the summer update that said sellers have 2 business days instead of 6 business days to refund after delivery (buried in the FAQ and not called out as a change, by the way), none of these changes were posted anywhere except the policy page.
2. Return shipping transit time: When the 5 domestic or 14 international business days expire, what happens? Is a refund issued automatically or does the case sit until it's escalated? If it's escalated after the alotted time does the agent review the tracking before making a ruling or what happens?

I'd also like to know if a refund is pending but not received in 2 days will eBay refund also?
