1. From what I have been told from Ebay reps... there is a $500 cap on all listings that will ship through the program. If your item is over that - ebay will direct the buyer to contact seller to arrange shipping privately and directly with carriers with no USA hub or protections of any kind.. Can anyone confirm this because if so we are going backwards 15 years in product vs the GSP.
2.There have been reports that Ebay motors / parts and accessories (USED) are an EXCLUDED category and cannot ship through EIS. Can anyone confirm this? Ebay motors is, and has been the highest grossing category on ebay- are they really taking away the GSP and keeping sellers from selling worldwide with EIS? This does not make any sense but several sellers are reporting this.

Anyone sing this yet and or have an answer?

"Packages cannot:
I would assume the package size restriction disqualify some Motors items (along with some other items , too, of course).
"Items included in eBay's hazardous, restricted or regulated materials policy, or that don't follow our International trading policy, can't be shipped using eBay International Shipping.
Due to export limitations and restrictions, items listed in the following categories also can't be shipped with eBay International Shipping:
This is not an exhaustive list and it may be updated based on transportation regulations and export laws."
My reading of this is that most Motors items would qualify, unless they exceed the package size requirements.

To sell through the eBay International Shipping program, the following requirements apply:

My reading of that is that most 'new' motor parts would qualify if they meet the size requirements.

I may be reading it wrong (the OP might want to call in an ebay blue), but I read it as most used parts are fine, but not those associated with Air Bags.

I have to say that ebay never makes things simple
if the item price limit is $500 then why is jewelry mentioned at $2500
still scratching my head over this one

Also, to be clear, aside from the occasional manual, I don't sell in Motors, so I have no expertise. You might well be right. I think we could use some clarification from ebay on this.

A seller who sells exclusively in ebay motors (outboard motor parts I think ) recently posted a thread on this. I can't remember the exact number of listings they had but out of something like 200 listing, only 11 were opted into EIS. Those 11 were the only new items. They were quite upset that they ebay took them out of gsp where all of their listings were listed international to EIS were the majority of their listings were automatically opted out.
I guess my first post could have mentioned that. 🙂

There was another seller that found (new) boat propellors were being restricted.
OP may want to check out my EIS FAQ which will be posted either tonight or tomorrow on the shipping board, depending if I go to my neighbor's for a while or not. May stay home and get some listings done because this is going to be a busy week. If I stay home I'll try to finish that EIS post tonight.
With EIS info spread out in so many different places I put together a consolidated reference guide which was much more work than originally anticipated. Hopefully it will help a lot of sellers.

@wastingtime101 For what it's worth, I'll just add there will be a break out session at the March 2nd Seller Check In on International Shipping:
"The eBay shipping team will be answering all your questions—especially around the eBay International Shipping program."

Thanks. I did see that on the scheduled speakers list the other day. It's usually impossible for me to attend any kind of meeting or event during the day, but I have a friend that typically reports back to me. Hopefully others will be able to ask their EIS questions at the event.
If anybody wants to register they should have received an e-mail a few days ago that has the link.

I read the exclusions list as no used car parts period. There is a coma as if to not relate to airbags. in fact you cannot sell used airbags on ebay at all anywhere in the USA either. And you can only sell new airbags if you are a licensed approved seller anyway. Considering the fact that the other seller cant sell his used boat parts I am tending to think that all use ebay motors parts/accessories are banned at this point. This will be a sales disaster for us! How is it even possible that ebay could force a seller into a program that does not support what they sell all the while removing them from a program that does?!
My concern is that ebay is being lazy about this- for sure some countries do not allow for the import of used parts that have come into contact with gasoline- such as old carburetors...... is ebay just banning all used parts so they do not have to do the work and build the infrastructure to see what is allowed to go to what country?
aargggg- but at least they raised fees for all this improvement lol

That's how I read it, too.
Airbags
Used Parts
AC Refrigerant
all restricted.
Look at Personal Security - formatted the same way for pepper spray, stun guns, handcuffs
So if you want to sell used parts in the motors category, EIS will not work for you. Have you checked the EISD terms (eBay International Standard Delivery) to see if that's an option?
