Did you mean:

Never send a buyer a best offer through Ebay messages--it will LOCK your auction editing.

I received a message from an interested buyer for an item. I decided to send a best offer via a response. The buyer countered with a reasonable counteroffer, but I could not revise my offer. Additionally, the buyer could not even refuse the offer or make a counteroffer. I could not even revise my auction to the new price that the buyer and I agreed upon.

Once you make an offer to a buyer via Ebay messages, YOUR AUCTION IS, in essence, "LOCKED" and you cannot alter or cancel the auction until the original offer expires. Never make an offer through an Ebay message unless you are 100% sure it is a price both you and the buyer have already agreed upon, AND you feel that you trust the buyer to follow through on the purchase.
