Re: Neisner’s big N

I would sell it for the value of whatever is inside the bag, not a penny more.

I don't know much about paper bags but looks like a fireplace starter to me.

Re: Neisner’s big N

I charge $150 to perform an appraisal.

I will offer free advice for you, because I like you. This bag is torn and badly wrinkled - so unless it was a place historically significant, you're going to be disappointed with the amount you'd probably get for it.

Re: Neisner’s big N

I doubt that it has any monetary value at all.  If you want try listing it, you'll have to just pull a price out of the air.

If it were in pristine condition, it might fetch a few dollars from a collector, but based on Completed Listings I'd say Neisner advertising items are not much in demand:

Re: Neisner’s big N

We had in a Neisner's in the 60's in Evanston IL where I grew up.  Kresge's was bigger and more modern on the corner and a real old Woolworth's was around the block by the El station.   I liked Kresge's the best.  They had a lunch counter as they all did but also a snack bar with pizza.

Ah Woolworths.  We even had em here in Hawaii.  Those were the days.

Wow my birth city. Ben Franklins 5 -10 was another classic. Speaking of being old....yikes no wonder the grandkids call us fossils.

Re: Neisner’s big N

Oh yes, Ben Franklin was my neighborhood variety store on Central Street, about 4 blocks away.  I bought most of my Barbie clothes there.  They had candy too but no food.  The other stores were all the way downtown, at least a mile and a half.

I grew up poor in small-town Indiana.   A couple of times a year, my mother and I would take a longish bus trip to Indianapolis to shop and take in the sights and sounds of the big city.  The trips always included lunch at Woolworth's, and it made us feel quite sophisticated to dine out like that, just throwing our money around.   🙂

Re: Neisner’s big N

I especially remember the hotdog buns from Woolworths.  They were like a thick folded over piece of toast with a well the dog fit in.   The store was really old with a high tin ceiling and squeaky wood floor.

Woolworths....  I was always fascinated by the spin display case with the old/rare coins. The hot wheels cars were on the isle butting up to the coin case.

There you have it Gamalyer.... If you can appeal to a buyer's sense of nostalgia, that bag might just net you a sale yet...😉
