Negative review

I had a customer leave a negative review when I reached out to them to find out more the customer informed me if I would give them the item and their money back they would change their review. Is this not extortion? What can I do because I have one negative review out of over a hundred and it is from this individual. I told him that it was not going to happen that I would keep the negative review and never do business with them again.

Yes that sounds exactly like extortion.

Re: Negative review

They probably think they have a live one - don't fall for it!  Just contact support.

Re: Negative review

You wonder why they would want the item if they left a bad review. Apparently the item is defective according to them. Yes extortion and a scammer...don't let them scam you. Report them.

I had a similar situation, comic book buyer, gave me precise instructions as how to mail, I did what they asked and he still complained that the comic was not wrapped correctly. I asked for pictures and the outer cardboard was slightly crushed , not the comic. He wanted me to do a partial refund. I refused and told him to send the comic back with my prepaid label and I would do a full refund. No he just wanted a cheaper price. Never heard from him again. It is a game they play.

Re: Negative review

The issues mentioned in your neutral reviews needs to be addressed. Maybe it already has.

Good luck selling!

Are you able to respond to the feedback?  If so, I'd write something like:

"The item I sent the buyer was in pristine condition.   Buyer is likely confusing me with another eBay seller from whom he purchased."

Meantime report him and block him.

Re: Negative review

This is a very common scam.

I get more of these on the other e site because negative reviews count against you and buyers know it.

Re: Negative review

I just went through this scenario. Tried every avenue to get it rectified and ebay did absolutely nothing. Buyer claimed Item "arrived damaged in the mail" and was unusable and worthless. Then they wanted to keep the item and get $50 back. I asked for better pics (because I planned to make an insurance claim) they just kept sending the same pic (horrible) that showed absolutely nothing.

I checked the last feedback they left a seller and they did the same thing to another seller but got the partial but left a neutral. Needless to say I denied their second request to keep the item and get their money back. I simply requested they need to return it for a refund and they left me a negative.  The item they admitted to  now using as they "made it work". They then said I threatened and attacked them. Ebay refused to remove it. I tried email, facebook, phone. They don't care.

I was told since the buyer did not specify in the feedback comment itself about feedback extortion it was not removable. I guess you can throw around accusations of being threatened and attacked in feedback though.

Simply block, report them, and keep a note of their name and address in case they try creating another account to purchase more of your items in the future. Sorry this happened to you, some people just suck.

@calou-3838

You need to take care of this issue sooner rather than later.  If the feedback gets too old, Ebay won't be able to help you.  So contact Ebay ASAP and make sure you ask them to look at the messages you received from the buyer.  Don't delay or it may be too late to do anything.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

When you reached out to the buyers, what exactly did you say to him? Did you offer the buyer a return for refund? Or did you ask him in an open-ended way what you could do to resolve the negative review?
