Negative feedback by a buyer who used a freight forwarder

Recently I got a message from a buyer who said the tablet they ordered wasn't working properly as described and wanted to return it. No problem for me as I messaged him to make a return request through eBay. However, the buyer said that they live outside of the US (despite us shipping this tablet to a Florida address; likely used a freight forwarder) and as such didn't want to make a return. They instead left negative feedback saying that the tablet wasn't working without opening the return request through eBay.

Was this negative feedback deserved and, if not, is there a way to remove such feedback?

You can try to get it removed with the feedback removal tool

But it really doesn't violate feedback policy, so it might not be removed.

Was it deserved; probably not. Can you get it removed; no. The buyer can leave negative feedback by claiming it doesn't work with no proof and no need to accept your offer to return it.

That feedback is not likely going to hurt you in any way.  Your response was good.

It is likely the buyer knew that they would have to pay return shipping IF you were willing to take the return, which you do not have to per the Money Back Guarantee.  Once that package left the Freight Forwarder, the buyer's protection under the MBG was voided.

It can't hurt to try and get it removed as the worse they can say is no.

Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.
