After a 55 year marriage and the death of my husband, it is time for me to slow down and smell the roses. I found a great assisted living place in north Florida but can't even apply until I get this house cleared and sold to my neighbor. Needless to say, in 55 years and my eBay addiction, we have accumulated lots of everything that won't fit in a 3 room apt. Our two children and a couple of friends have taken part of it but not all because they have established homes. There are a lot of good things left and if I can't find someone who will buy them at a very reasonable price, all of it will go to charity. I finally decided a few days ago, as I watched two trucks and a trailer pull out of the yard, charity needs to begin at home. In my book, a little money is better than no money but I don't have the time or energy to sell it all myself. Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested. The sooner the better. Real estate is now booming here but I don't know how long that will last.

How about finding a company in your area that does estate sales? They have you remove anything you want to keep for yourself and then they take over, pricing, tagging and advertising.

Had two stacks until my son and grandson got to them. I don't know what my son plans to do with his because they were mostly from the Big Band and Rat Pack days (belonged to husband's grandmother. I will ask him if he wants to keep them. How far are you from Bay Minette?

Besides companies who do estate sales, there are companies that will buy the entire contents of the house. It might sound like a low ball offer, but besides making money on your good items that will sell, they also have the expense of packing up everything and carting it away, and disposal fees for the stuff that's not worth selling.
