Need opinions on the best way to list something

I have a bound (like a book) full year of Hygeia magazine, Jan-Dec 1944.  This is chock full of awesomely fabulous  WWII advertising. It is going to be a high end list for me, so I need to get this right.

My choices are to list under magazines, antiquarian/collectible books, militaria>home front, or possibly collectibles>advertising>whatever...it could also go under some sort of medical collectible category.

I'm thinking antiquarian/collectible with a second category of home front or some sort of advertising collectible. Anything but magazines.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

When i list, i never pay much attention to the category.  20+ years on ebay and i have NEVER EVER searched for anyhting by category.  I know what i'm looking for and search by name or model or whatever.

Your 2 category suggestion sounds good though.

BTW, when i was reading (skimming) your post, i thought you said "hygiene" magazine.   LOL

Speaking as a book collector, if you think the book warrants it, I would list in both categories - it's cheap to do so and for those who DO browse categories (interest shoppers, for instance) you'll pick up both interests.

Be sure you have a keyword rich, front-loaded title as that will cover the rest of the bases.

Exactly what inhawaii said; so... if any of those categories are a lower fvf- that would be my choice.

If not, probably the WWII as I'm just guessing there are more collectors there than other areas?

I would say list in 2 categories also, maybe;

Collectibles- historical memorabilia-(and then the best fit from there...)

or

Collectibles-Militaria-WW II Collectibles-Original WW II Period Items-Original WW II United States Collectibles-Other WW2 Original US Collectibles.

It's a tough call but just my 2cents worth.

People think of the 50 as mid century, but the styles and sensibilities really started around WWII

That might make a good category

Regardless, make sure to put “MCM” and “Atomic” in the title
