Need advice regarding feedback

Hi,

I'm sorry to bother anyone, just hoping for a little advice from people who know more than I do.

I sold a game.  Due to USPS delays item was delayed getting to customer.  They emailed me and was very nice when I explained the delay and generally a very nice email exchange.

I even gave the buyer good feedback due to how nice he was.

Well today I found out I made a mistake.  The customer recieved the package and it's the wrong game.  The game he ordered and the game that was sent had a one letter difference. (He ordered cribbage and I mistakenly sent Scribbage)  It was my error.  I read the order wrong.

I was writing him an email apologizing, and was going to tell him to keep the wrong game, I'd refund him and I'd send the correct game asap. I really felt bad and

The game is an 8 dollar game. I'd lose 2 games and any profit and have to pay shipping twice but it was my error and I wanted to make it right.

As I was writing it I noticed he left me bad feedback.  My first.  I've been selling for about 5 months. I only have 50 feedback so now my percent is 97.8.

Heres my question.  Am I allowed to ask him to remove feedback? If I do ask him, is it an easy process? And if he says he will ,do customers usually?

If you were in my place would you just apologize and send refund, would you do what I was going to do originally?, or should I just refund his money, no response and move on.

Thank you.

I would apologize and explain that you will immediately be refunding their money.

After you do that you could ask if  they would consider changing their feedback. If they are willing, you would have to send them a feedback revision request.

Mistakes happen.

I would immediately send the buyer what they ordered, and refund them for what they didn't order, and then contact them with an apology and what you did to make it right. After they receive what they ordered, I would ask if they would consider removing the feedback.

just my opinion
