My buyer can't re order an item after cancelling the order

Hi Need help! I'm new to ebay selling. My buyer ordered an item but put the wrong address and requested a cancellation. I canceled the order and re listed now he can't order it again it keeps telling him "Already ordered your payment has been refunded". He also does not see it when he goes to my ebay store now. Does anyone know what he should do?

Did you RELIST or do a SELL SIMILAR?

I think relisting uses the same Ebay item number, where sell similar creates a new listing. I would cancel and do a sell similar on the listing and see if that works

A lot of the problem may be dependent on a timing issue. When you canceled the original order, I am assuming for "buyer requested" it takes some time for the system to handle the financial aspect of the refund and clean up the old listing. How long after you canceled was it before you reposted the listing? As erseyboymusic noted it would be better to do the sell similar as opposed to the relisting so the two actions don't collide with each other. End your current listing then do a sell similar, provide the buyer with a link to the new listing and things should go through without any problems.

It could also be due to buyer requirements in your eBay preferences.  Having 2 cancellations in 12 months is the default setting.  Also at the bottom if that box is checked they will be restricted.

You could also list it as a Private Sale.
