Well meme now that the dust has somewhat settled on all the replies. I for one hope you are doing OK. We don't always agree but OK is good enough I hope.

None of us really know what the future holds and hopefully things will work out for everyone in the end.

                 Peace.

For the sale to work it needs to actually put your items at some sort of real discount compared to your competitors.  A sale that still puts an item 400 percent of the competition's price isn't going to sell your item.

AMERICAN GUNFIGHT~The Plot to Kill President Truman

29 listed. Only 2 sold, most one has sold for in the last 3 years is $7.69 and your price is $22.26 shipped.

The circumstances is that any price I check of yours it seems like I can buy the same thing from someone else at a fraction of the price.  The only common exception to that I see in your store is the hot wheels lots, which usually never have an competition in the form of the exact same lot.

I know you don't care, won't listen and think it is ebay's fault that people won't pay 4 times as much.

Your sales would take off like a rocket if you just researched the prices that people are actually willing to pay for your items and priced them that way.

I have always really wanted meme to be successful, he has so much great stuff, but it seems like all of it is still at peak covid pricing, which just isn't coming back.

You need to mind your own business & I will mind mine, That is your only constant lower prices, lower prices, Like a broken record, I did not complain, I did not blame ebay, none of that, So don't put words in my mouth & mind your own words

You don't even have your pricing right, That IS NOT the cost of my book at all, Where do you even get your information?

not sure why you continue to post these type of things

all your posts seem to do is open the flood gate for the wolves to pounce

although it is somewhat entertaining.....

Blaming an OP for posting whatever he/she wishes shouldn't happen because it gives an opportunity for "the  'wolves to pounce."  ??   Maybe the wolves shouldn't get their panties in a knot at every turn.   🙂

I got my information from your listing by taking that price of the item that you had listed ($16.13) and adding the price of the shipping that was displayed to me ($6.13).  The sum of those two numbers is $22.26. That is what is called math. I use it extensively in business.

I am not a wolf, I genuinely want you to succeed. You have never been able to explain why in the world anyone would pay 3 or 4 times the market rate of an item.  I am trying to help you and you have never been anything but hostile and rude to anyone who actually tried to help you.

For those not understanding what is happening here, imagine that the book price of a 2020 Honda Civic is around $20,000 with average miles and average level of options. Then right there in the middle of all those 2020 Honda Civic listings that are clustered between 18-22K is one listed for $80,000. And the person who has the $80,000 price on the $20,000 car will not change the price, gets offended if told the price is too high and posts frequent threads about the $80,000 Honda Civics not selling very well, perhaps even that they are being hidden from the customers.

I believe that, thanks to the new tarrifs, the book price of a 2020 Honda Civic with average miles and average level of options is around $80,000 now.

That might indeed happen, in that case the market value of the item will have floated to the listed level and then the $80,000 one would indeed sell. The entire trading card part of my business is based on the fact that market values of them fluctuate so I have 10,000 of them listed at $2.99 (plus ship) each. at any given day some of them are priced right and they sell. However if I upped that price to 5.99 then the sales would probably go to one per month, because the prices on relatively worthless cards don't tend to get all the way up to $6.

Price fluctuations (or actually guessing right by accident) is the main thing that drives the sales of the "guess a very high price and never change it" sellers.

@meme6253

Then you'd make 5 million bucks!!

Seriously... I recently tried an experiment:

I lowered prices of brand new, factory sealed LPs in my inventory from $22.99 (with free media mail shipping) to $18.99 (also free shipping).

The net result: sales of LPs like I have not experienced before.

eBay seller since 1999. This is a posting ID.

I don't actually sell everything for $5. Although an item sold for $5 is way better than an item that never sells at $22.

On easy to search for items where the buyer can sort by price then I want to have the best price for my condition. No one is going to buy my Metroid cartridge for $90 when they can choose from 100 of them at $12.

For items that are more unique or artsy I usually price based on the sold listing that seems to be closest to my items.

All the trading cards are 2.99 plus shipping (except the rare exceptions that are worth more).

Then once something that has a price $3 or up is has been listed for 3 months then I relist it 10 percent cheaper with a minimum price of $2.99. If I need more space then I pull $2.99 items off the shelves (not cards) and throw them away (or donate if I am going out that week).
