Ladies and Gentlemen,
I sell very light products on eBay. My Default shipping is "USPS First Class Free Shipping" which switched to UPS Ground shipping when Buyer Purchase Item, and the USPS option selection is greyed out so I can't select it. I have never selected or have the need to use UPS Ground shipping which cost more than my product. Has anyone experienced this kind of situation. Please I need your help, guidance and experience in resolving this problem. Thank you.

Take it to the PO and pay for the shipping at the counter. Enter tracking number after you return

I have experienced a similar situation selling light first class USPS items. I have learned to check carefully because sometimes a 4 oz package will come up as Priority Mail even though I do not offer that as an option. I have checked and rechecked that my listing shipping parameters are correct. I have also checked to make sure the buyer has not paid extra for Priority Shipping.
This is one of those "Ghost Bugs" that has been around for many years. Another one is non vetting of delivery addresses. I came to the conclusion long ago that either Ebay doe not care to fix these bugs or simply does not have the management and technical capabilities to do so. Maybe both. If I am in a really paranoid mood I sometimes think a bug that makes extra $$$ for Ebay through higher shipping and FVF would be very low on the priority list for correction.

Could it be that the address does not receive USPS mail. You may want to ask customer if they have a PO Box.

It appears your listing is set up correctly. However, unless I try to make a purchase to see what a buyer is presented at check out, I can't tell for certain if other choices are presented. Did your buyer PAY MORE for the UPS? If not, and eBay is preventing you from printing a USPS label, you can go to Pirateship and print one there for the discount (below counter rate) for USPS. You can choose to integrate this service with your eBay listings, or simply add the tracking number manually.
It is likely either a glitch, enhancement, intended change, or whatever with eBay. Can you go into your listing (pretend to revise) and see what services are actually checked?

See if you can print via Paypal. Or try Pirateship or any of the other companies. Also have you tried PRINT ANOTHER LABEL to see if you can switch it over to FIRST CLASS mail. Check your other listings too. Once I a while, I do see some of my items (on another ID ) switch to UPS and I know that I did not click that since I swore to myself to never ever use UPS for shipping anything. Go to the actual listing and make believe that you are going to relist it but don't. Click EDIT and see if it says UPS. If yes, it could be a typo that you did checking the wrong option or ebay switched it. Look at some of your other listings to see if the setting is correct.

Had the same thing happen and after about 1000 clicks , got the proper options to show up.

What item was it for? I just hit BIN to go to the checkout screen with a small purchase from your item list and it shows free shipping via USPS...at least it does on my end as the buyer.

The problem comes in when trying to buy a label
