I see MANY seller listings with them searched item at a very low price. Once opened, I find that's Not the price for the item that I searched, but for a small accessory or battery. At times, there are numerous, widely priced items being sold under a single listing, often wasting my time because the item I searched is "Sold Out", or priced much higher than I'm willing to pay! These ad are also Confusing! I'm sure I'm not the first buyer to Not Receive what I "thought" I had ordered! Can these ads be somehow changed?

I can't recall which thread it was mentioned on, but a long-time forum member said that Ebay is going to be addressing that. NOT only is it confusing in the way you stated (never nice to not get the item you meant to order) but it is also a way of 'cheating the system' of best match; they get higher rankings for the low minor item, while their main item is priced higher, meaning it may not have ranked as high.
Hopefully that wasn't too confusing of an explanation. I've gotten to where I just don't bid on those type of auctions. At this point it is the only way to protest it, But I do believe it is a known issue that is being looked at. Hard to know how long it will take to be addressed.

It's search manipulation and years ago there USED to be an option under the "Report Listing" option to report this specific violation.
At some point eBay removed this violation, making it hard to report the listings. You have to select a general Search Manipulation option and the eBay employee who sees the report doesn't know what to look for in the listing that triggered the report, which makes you wonder if they check them at all.
The problem is rife and probably drives buyers away. People feel cheated if they see a price in search that doesn't match the item price when they open the listing.
