Multiple items & immediate payment: how to combine shipment?

Hi, I sell multiple items, all require immediate payment. Would there be a way to automatically combine shipment in order to avoid duplicate costs for buyers? It should be possible, but I spent hours figuring out how.

This is a USA message board. Might be a little different in the Netherlands.

You can always refund a buyer any combined shipping costs under one of the items listed that sold.

Make sure if you put all items in one package you enter the same tracking number for ALL the items...not just the box.

Your combined payment and shipping settings should be here: https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf (link may not work in NL, but if it doesn't, just look under your account for Shipping Preferences, and hopefully it'll be the same).

You can enable rules for what can be combined and how much it discounts, and it should work if they add them all to their Cart and check out at once.  If they purchase separately, your only option is to do a partial refund afterwards if you're going to combine the orders, but at least here in the US, we can use the same tracking number for multiple orders as long as they're for the same buyer.

Thanks for  answering me! This looks like the way to do it. I just use the .com site, I changed the settings but somehow it seems to have no effect, though it seems logical that it should have. I don't know why. Maybe the changes need 24 hours to take effect? When I pick two items from my store, two times the shipment is charged in the Cart, regardless of what I change in the settings. They seem to have no effect at all. Strange.

I get this question from buyers who want to buy multiples from time to time with my IPR listings. I tell them to add everything to their cart and click into their cart to pay everything at once to get the discounts. Sometimes I have to explain it in more detail. But it works.

You’re using a flat rate freight for the listing that I looked at so using the term freight may be the problem.  Since you’re listing on .com you need to use the shipping choice ‘shipping from outside of the US’ as your service.   You still use a flat rate but then you should be able to set up shipping rules that combine when a buyer adds items to their carts.

The seller is listing on .com not on the NL one so they would set things up ‘basically’ the same way you would for combined shipping in the US.

Thanks to all, I finally get it :-). After enabling Combined Shipments and creating a flat shipping rule in https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf that rule should then be implemented in the listings ("Flat shipping rule (optional)".). And then it works. 🙂
