Multiple IDs

I'm just wondering how many here may have multiple posting IDs and am just wondering why?

I've had this ID forever. Though I know some people like to change theirs every so often - I've been made aware of many with 3,4,5 different postings IDs and I don't understand why that's necessary. To move up on the kudo's board? To show more support for a post that isn't too popular?

We actually have a much smaller community than I thought and now that I'm aware of all these posting IDs - I'll be more conscious of who's posting what.  I was surprised at the multiple IDs some long term posters have.

If there is another reason people feel the need to have all these multiple ID's I'm just wondering what it is.

I have no idea why one would have multiple posting IDs.  For me, one's good enough.

I can understand if someone got into some kind of altercation with another poster, or their ID got sanctioned by a moderator, then they'd come up with a new ID.

But to have multiple different posting IDs when there's no problems with any of them, I can't figure that one out.   Someone mentioned possibly for trolling purposes ... I reckon that's a possibility.

I just have my selling ID, my buying ID, and this posting ID.   I changed it once, as some of you may remember it used to be razor*bill.   But I didn't want people to think I was a guy named Bill, so I changed it to violet*owl.

A poster's style comes through no matter the ID...

I type fast, copy and paste to quote....

You can almost read (hear) some posters just by style.

I love reading bubbleman's.. for example..  Reminds me of a confident, smooth wise person.

Few words needed, so each is important.

I have this one. Never had a posting ID. I used to post on my other account but ran into a few issues and besides, I like posting on this one better.

I think a few of the regular posters with multiple IDs just post with whichever account they are on.
