Story time. Tell us some of your most memorable experiences opening packages of items you purchased on eBay. Doesn't matter if it's funny, horrifying, exhilarating, or tear-jerking... as long as it was a memorable moment.
Several years ago my cousin ordered a set of vintage salt and pepper shakers. The seller failed to take note that the salt shaker was full before they shipped it. Salt was spilling out from every crevice of that box when we opened it. The carpet was not pleased with the shower it got. We were vaccuming that thing up for weeks and ultimately had to have it professionally cleaned.
Another time I purchased something for my mom. She had a favorite item that broke and thought that was it since it's not made anymore. I found a replacement on eBay and I let her open the box. She was so surprised and excited. She couldn't believe that I found it. I won't soon forget the look on her face.

Congrats on winning the SCARIEST award for your protruding chainsaw, Mr. C!
I tend to develop images of these things in my mind as I read. So the other night I had a nightmare that our UPS driver delivered us a box with what else but a box with a protruding chainsaw! ![]()

Hi Owl,
Well normally I would say thank you...but not sure if I would like to repeat the event just to get the award let alone you having a nightmare about it!
Poor seller...I reached out to him and he was so understanding. I was able to file the burrs/dings off the edge of the bar that were the result of it's travels and sticking it's neck out to see what was going on...lol. He offered a partial refund...I Declined...that chainsaw is what fell most of the trees on the property. There were a few "hairy" moments when dropping some of those MASSIVE oaks and hickories but that's over now. Love it by the way...sure out preformed my Husqvarna 450 rancher!
