So here we go again, my perfect 100 percent was shattered by new buyers who don't have a clue!
The last one really made me mad! New buyer just signed on in May of this year. Buyer asked if I would discount the item from $19 to $12, okay I did. Shipped it out ASAP as I always do. They asked if they could return it, I said no problem, keep the item, I will refund in full, which I did. Then they left negative feedback, my second negative feedback in 20 years – from a new buyer! Asked for a revised feedback never heard from the buyer again! Of course I blocked them! This sucks! Looking at their buying habits they never bought a 78rpm record before, so they probably played it on their regular player and it sounded horrible! Of course 78rpm records need a 3 mil needle, if you play them on anything else they will sound bad! Their buying habits point to the fact that they only buy vinyl records not shellac! Here's another example of an idiot! Buyer buys an item, leaves neutral feedback says: “Bought this for a friend not sure if it's good?” or words to that effect! Never heard back from them!
So far the only problems I have had are from new eBay members! I think this is going to get worse!
The first negative feedback from an idiot in Missouri – checked back on the feedback he left for other and sure enough he did the same thing to another seller! Left negative feedback before contacting the seller for a resolution – seller made the same comment that I did, why didn't you contact me first before leaving negative feedback! I have never – ever left negative feedback for another seller! I know that there is always resolution!
Here's a classic tale from the old days when I started! Shipped an LP record to a buyer! Apparently this guys wife took the LP out of the mailer, rapped it in gift rap, placed it under the Christmas tree, and
their son accidentally stepped on the gift rapped LP, breaking it in half! Unusual for a vinyl record
to crack in-half but it could happen! The man contacted me in a rage asking me why I removed the LP
and placed it in gift rap! I told him, I never did that? I shipped it in an LP mailer! He said: “Well thanks a lot, I won't be buying from you again!”
Another tale: Got a huge collection of LPS from a university professor – his LPS were in near mint condition, he placed on the spine of each LP a very small discreet sticker with his name on it. One of the LPS was a cover done by Robert Crumb, sold it $20 bucks! The buyer contacted me and said he was very disappointed with the item! I said the LP was near mint, what's wrong?” He said the sticker on the spine blows his trip! I'm like do you play the record or the cover?
Best tale! Found a Rolling Stone yellow vinyl LP on the famous Pig label! These were bootlegs from the 1970's! Listed it, and a member contacted me in a rage, he said something like he's a huge Rolling Stone fan and he doesn't want to see other Stone fans ripped off! I asked what do you mean? He said that the bootleg I was selling originally came as a two record set, and if I didn't change the listing he would report me to eBay! So I updated the listing sold it for $38 bucks and the guy who bought it was happy as a lark!
Best II – member contacted me asking if I could see if their dad was in a yearbook I was selling. So I looked for his name, and he was in the yearbook. Buyer asked if I could shoot a photo of his photo in the yearbook and send it to them, I said no, because the last time I did that, the member posted it on Facebook, and never bought the yearbook so I lost a sale, I just won't do that! OMG the member
called me ever dirty name in the book told me I was cruel and that this was going to be a gift for their
dying father, they said people like you make the world a horrible place to live in! I thought gee, so I went to the warehouse pulled the yearbook, took a photo of the small class photo of their dying dad,
when I went to email it, I said it doesn't look that good because you can see the dots of the half screen.
They emailed me back saying, “Yea it doesn't look good at all!” That's the last I heard from them!
I have a dozen stories like this! But what's a girl to do! Carry On Regardless!

I did enjoy your tales, we all have stories of bad customers around here.
Probably my favourite was the guy who bought the Egypt 1 Pound 1980 silver coin (denominated 1 pound, it had around 0.6 oz of silver), and he got mad and wanted to return it because it didn't weigh one pound. Yeah you buy one pound of silver for 17.99? I posted the story here in 2017 when it happened (and none of my IRL friends could believe this guy) and someone said "your buyer is too stupid to buy coins". He did return the coin though and I was able to resell it to someone else. He also paid the shipping on the returned coin and didn't wait for a label.
I do kind of understand your buyer's complaint about the label on the cover though... some people collect LPs and don't actually play them, they want the artwork. But your response to him made me laugh (do you play the record or the cover).

I read both of the FBs and your response.
Both of your negatives seemed plausible and not as described is something you should have owned up to, refunding is not enough if you failed to describe the defects.
On those occasions when I screw up, I apologize profusely as well as refunding. People who buy 78s are motivated to have them. Even the cheapskates who ask for a better price.
That said - one of the reasons I refuse most buyer offers is the odds of a post sales issue with a buyer increase when you have accepted an offer.

20 years with only two negative feedback is pretty awesome.
Don't let the losers win. Keep doing your thing.

Why would you agree to a 40% discount? That would have been a no, no, no for me.

This is why I don't just refund and they can keep.
I like having the auto negative feedback removal for returns.

People just like to be negative even if there is no reason to be. You never know.

First you're complaining about "crackpot new members," the implication being that they don't know ebay and how it works.
However your reply to one of the feedbacks states that "All of my long time buyers know I refund in full if not satisfied!" If it's a new member as you claim, they aren't one of your long time buyers and as an unknowing buyer, they look at your listing and see "no returns" as your return policy.
Assuming it's a newbie, they aren't always familiar with the MBG so how would a first time buyer know that you'll "refund in full if not satisfied" if you have a no return policy?

That's another issue, eBay needs to figure out how sellers can update things in mass!
For example shipping fees go up every year! But listings from 2016 have the old shipping fees.
That should be an easy fix? But no! I just joined Global Shipping because buyers overseas
complain about the shipping costs and I guess GSP is cheaper somehow? BUT it only applies
to when I joined the program! So I would have to update 20 plus thousands listings! I can't do that!
They can do somethings to the platform – last week or so, sometime, they changed one of the
pull down menu's from “Sold” to “Orders” then they made an announcement Said: “Sold is now Orders” I'm like are kidding me! What idiot at eBay decided to change that????? Sold? Orders?
who cares! Waste of time! If they can do that, surely they can fix the other issues!

It's called use business policies.
You update one policy and it updates all listings.
