Modes Of Search Are Failing

When I do a category search, Time Ending Soonest, my items for sale are not showing up. Now the other problem is  with search, Price + shipping: lowest first... also not showing the items. Sometimes it shows up one way, but not the other way, however today it failed to yield results in either order. The item simply was not showing up. So I did a search: Price + Shipping: highest... and after a lot of clicks, it did in fact show up.

The single word 'Yes' is apparently blocked, but not all one word answers.

Some new board users were apparently entering their entire post text into the subject field, which cuts off after 99 characters, rather than into the actual body of the post. This lead to incomplete posts and questions that were difficult to decipher and answer.

To help prevent this, the board software was recently set to automatically reject posts with less than ten characters in the message body.

Truncated list. They are making it bad on purpose? That's NOT a good thing to do. In my case it wasn't just truncated. It was completely missing when searching with several different modes. This has an adverse affect on sales and if done on purpose, than I would call that a very serious problem which needs to be corrected.  I think you are right about the truncated issue, because I have made several purchases where a lower price showed up immediately after I made the purchase. Since I was doing a LOW PRICE Search, I would have made the purchase of the lower priced item, but was not able to do so because the lowest priced item was missing from the search.

They seem to be ignoring us. We are doing ebay a service by bringing it to their attention. I hope they appreciate it.  I don't feel like a valued customer anymore.  We are the reason why they are in business. Without us they would be out of business.

Yes, it is my understanding they are doing it on purpose. So, telling ebay to fix the search "glitch" misses the point...I think you need to convince ebay that the design itself is flawed, and that they should show ALL items in those search orders.

I doubt they will do that, but you can try to convince them.

I'm trying to contact ebay because THE CATEGORY SEARCH is not working again today. They seem to be ignoring me and the messages left on this forum, or perhaps they don't know how to fix it.

As you can see from the Screen Clip, there is no option to select Technical Support. None of the topics presented are relevant.

I suspect it is a software issue. The search times out.

Try temporarily disabling your ad blocker and see if that prevents the search from timing out.

Customer service may not be the best way to get technical support for this sort of issue. Customer service is good for issues that are "in the script" that the customer service reps use, though you can certainly try to raise a new issue with them if you want. Use the chat assistant to request a chat with an agent or a call back by typing "agent" into the chat window.

For most search and browse issues, you may be able to get your concerns directly to the relevant page developers by using the "feedback" icon in the lower right corner of the search results or category listing page. You can fill out a brief form and provide details of your issue that way, though I do not think you will get a direct response if that is what you are looking for.

update(10-6-23)(8PM) I contacted them this morning. They had all day to fix it, but it's still not working.

It's not working again today when selecting Time: ending soonest. Also certain searches are dropping a large number of items. For example, search for Transformer under All Categories, and the Categories Field changes to a different category. In this case the automatic change in the category was the wrong category.  It is also showing 330, 000 results. I change it back to All Categories, and now it is showing 1,000,000 results. I change it to price: + Shipping Lowest and now it shows 60 results.

that happens to me; the previous category is retained when switched back to 'all categories' ... try searching auctions only, that seems to be more stable, then change sort filter, then switch back to 'all listings'
