When I do a category search, Time Ending Soonest, my items for sale are not showing up. Now the other problem is with search, Price + shipping: lowest first... also not showing the items. Sometimes it shows up one way, but not the other way, however today it failed to yield results in either order. The item simply was not showing up. So I did a search: Price + Shipping: highest... and after a lot of clicks, it did in fact show up.

Which items are not showing up, and how are you searching? I see three items you currently have listed. All three appear for me when sorting by Newly Listed. One of the items has nine watchers, so others are finding your items as well.
The "Price plus shipping: lowest first" sort order provides filtered results -- often drastically filtered. And the option to "see more results" may not always be shown as it should. The filtering may vary depending on the keywords used.
If you encounter a drastically filtered result for a keyword search using a desktop browser, you should be able to use the "Feedback" link in the lower right corner of the search results to provide feedback on your search to eBay developers. The more users provide info, the more likely something is to be done about the over-filtration problem.
You can avoid that problem entirely by using a different sort order.
If you have few results, try sorting by "highest first", then starting at the end of the results, scroll up instead of down. This also avoids the problem of variation listings with low-cost variations appearing at the top of the lowest-first sort.
If you have a bookmarked or saved lowest-first search that you use a lot, you can avoid the filtration by adding the following to the end of the search URL, then saving the resulting search:
&_blrs=recall_filtering

You need to give us the search criteria you are using, and item(s) you expect to find with that search.
We cannot help if we cannot diagnose the problem.
From my experience on this board, 90% of questions about items not appearing in searches can be explained.

You're searching for your own stuff?

I do CATEGORY Searches all the time. If I’m looking for an Antique Radio, I will search under the Category TUBE RADIO. Another favorite category is COLLECTABLES. If I find something I like, I will click the category it is under and search for items related to the first search. That’s when items start to disappear. For example Time Ending Soonest, might find the particular item, but when I search in the mode... Price + Shipping: lowest, it won’t be there. On other occasions the item is there, but when I search… Price + Shipping: highest… the item is not there. It keeps dropping items when the mode of search is changed. All of a sudden my items for sale are not getting any views, every day, day after day, no views. So I do a search for my items and they are not showing up. Sometimes they show up in a different search mode.

I suspect it is a software issue. The search times out. When using C++ in college we were taught how to do a Bubble Sort, which is essentially the same thing we are talking about. Before the software is released, the proper way to evaluate the new software and software changes is to do Beta Testing. Each and every function and mode of operation is tested before the software is released. Apparently they are not doing this at ebay. They are just waiting for us to report their software bugs, which by the way should not have been there in the first place, had the software been properly tested before release.

Yes. Doesn't everyone do that? If sales are not happening, you would think that there might be something gong on.

My first response to you was just one word, Yes. The software program validations malfunctioned and did not allow a ONE WORD answer to post. Another Software Bug revealed. One of many. I am finding a lot of them on ebay in the year 2023. A record high number of software bugs were experienced. Worse than all the previous years.

Yes Many of us do it to see if our items are showing up in search. There is nothing unusual about that and I think you know that.

I believe they are working as intended. If you do a Best Match search and find something you like, put it on your watch list...that ay you won't "lose" it.
If it is in category "a", and you then search, say, within one broad category by a fairly general term, lowest to highest, ebay will show you ALL the results IF there's a small amount. But if there are , say, ten thousand items returned, with many of them the same price or nearly the same, ebay will show you a truncated list of returns. Pretty sure they explained at ebay Open that this is by design.

The search engine has been a problem for a very long time!, & No matter how much it gets mentioned nothing has been done to fix it!

The eBay messageboard software is a Khoros product, not an eBay product.

The single word 'Yes' is apparently blocked, but not all one word answers. Which leads me to believe this was an intentional act, and not a bug.

That was the 'proper' way decades ago.
I work for a fortune 1000 company providing cloud solution similar to eBay, and we make thousands of changes every day that are not "Beta Tested".
It is a concept called Continuous Delivery/Continuous Deployment and virtually all cloud companies use it. We got rid of our QA department years ago.
