Mobile description uses random text from item description

I have recently noticed that the mobile description for my listings have just some random sentence from my item's description. I discovered this when I had to text someone a link. I tried texting myself links to some big seller's items, and some seem to have very informative mobile descriptions with text which isn't even in their descriptions. Obviously, there is some way of specifying it, but I can't figure it out. I've tried meta description and title tags, and I've also tried putting the relevant part of my description within the <span property="description"></span>tags, but still no change. How do I fix this?

BTW, this is a new account for posting only. I won't share my listing account here, so I can't give a link to a specific example.

Generally speaking, if we can't see your listings, we cannot advise you.  Perhaps someone that has experienced the same issue you describe will be by here to help you.  Again, check your settings.  View on a mobile app are different than a computer, and not everyone is presented with the same format regardless if they use an app or not.

Sorry for your situation.  However I can't see your listings, so giving any advice to you concerning your problems is going to be hard.

I don't use the mobile app. I'm talking about the card that pops up if you text a link to a listing, and also the mobile browser.

Re: Mobile description uses random text from item description

OK, it seems to be fixed now. The part of the description I put between the <span property="description"></span> tags now displays as the mobile description. The changes just took time, like several days, to be reindexed. If I text a link, the first 86 characters appear. That probably has nothing to do with eBay. So, I just need to make the first 86 characters as relevant as possible.
