Hey guys,
Been a off and on seller since 2011. Recently I, mistakenly, started listing various virtual items for sale after I saw them being listed here while I was browsing around. No excuse on my part for sure. Should have read the rules and regulations a little more closely.
Anyways I always sell with integrity and always try and make sure the buyer is happy. Selling these items are a magnet for scammers as anyone who has ever listed something of this can definitely tell you. I have had numerous orders disputed days and weeks after the fact, not by cases being opened but by the "buyer" calling the bank and doing a chargeback. Apparently most if not all of these cases were bought using a hacked ebay account. I've lost money on a lot of these but started to attempt to screen out the fraudulent orders by manually asking for ID verification, delay the sending of the items to see if a dispute comes about. I have always either sent or cancelled / refunded all of my orders. I sell "normal" stuff as well naturally, and only recently started with these listings.
My account now has been restricted (MCO11). I have uploaded as much as I was allowed and wrote as much in the little space provided and I am now waiting on Judgement day. I completely now know that with me being a Managed Payments user I wasn't even supposed to list these items. For that I am wrong for sure. Besides that though I always have held up my end and delivered as advertised, always tried to help as much as possible, giving more than required, thanking my buyers for choosing me, etc.
So my question to everyone still suffering through this long and boring post :
1. Will Ebay take into consideration my delivery of items as advertised, my feedback, my speed of replies, my attention to everything the buyer is asking about, anything that I have done right?
2. Why would they start allowing these types of items without laying the proper system in place like being able to upload the transaction hash in place of a tracking number? And do they know that buying virtual currency with a credit card has been extremely hard to do for the longest as everyone knows the risk involved with doing so. Thats why companies would refuse to allow it or if they did would make you jump over Mt. Everest first with ID verifications, uploading pictures of your face, etc. Doesn't Ebay know that the word is out that ebay is allowing this and are flocking here to buy crypto just because it is now probably the easiest place to do so as well as a easy place to score it free by doing a chargeback/opening a case?
3. If ebay continues to allow this are there any plans to make a dedicated portal or something to verify the transactions. Technically, these transactions should be way more safer and easier than any other item as the seller not the buyer can say anything about what was sent or not sent or not the right item or anything like that as it is recorded and stored and nobody can edit it or fake it. The blockchain provides the proof 100 times better than a tracking number
So any advice, feedback, insults, hurled rocks, opinions?
Thanks for reading, I know it was long

No.
All they'll see is you not following the digital item policy.

Thanks for replying
I'm just hoping they don't just throw me to the curb like a unwanted toy or something. I have orders to fulfill as well, which at this point I am still able to do everything except list items so I am still able to do that. Thats good right?

No insults, no rocks to hurl, just a Good Luck..
Those strikes are tough to overcome.. Honest mistake- but a mistake and eBay is like an unsympathetic cat- they will still pee in your cheerios..
I hope it works out for you.

Thanks I hope so. I contacted them by chat yesterday and she said 48-72 hours I'll hear back from the review board or something like that.
If worse comes to worse what would they tell the buyers if I haven't finished processing their orders?

Worst case: Your account is banned for life, your buyers will get refunds forced from your account and you won't get a credit of final value fees because the refunds will be cases closed without seller resolution.

I've had that happen, a seller I bought from got removed..
Buyer gets an email informing them- if they have paid, they are still covered by the MBG so they can expect their item or get refunded.
You as the seller can send the item to complete the transaction.
If you choose not to- eBay will refund your buyer.

Not being mean - you asked the questions. I would say you are toast.
You sold several of the 1Billion Safe Moon Crypto Coins @$8500 each. I am sorry but e-Bay is going to see this as egregious violation relative to the policy on these type(s) of items. And they were sold back to back to back. I am surprised the bots did not catch it at the first sale and it took multiples to catch it.
If you survive this, and if I were betting, I would bet no, I have no idea what sanctions they will implement to you.
And if they tell you it is for life - believe it. They will find any new account you create.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I was selling along just fine and even had my listing amounts raised from 25K to 47K without asking. My feedback and sales were good. I had no reason to act like I was doing anything wrong. I mean goodness, just look at how much competition you have selling right along side you.
The 1 billion safemoon listing was bought and was requested to cancel right after. Listed again and was paid for. This and the multiple "buyer did not recognize" disputes are undoubtedly what caused this, although really, none of those are something I have caused to happen. The large $ dollar amount, raises flags but if a legitimate sale should not be held against me, especially considering I was green lighted for 47K. The "buyer did not recognize" disputes are 100% strictly hacked accounts/ buyers trying to scheme the banks and nothing the seller has done to cause correct?
In saying all that I am still at fault for the listing violations and for that I guess I am at their mercy at this point. I'm trying to make sure the rest of my orders are either shipped or in the process of being shipped if things go south.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I knew it was most likely going to be mostly "yeah, you're screwed" anyways but I feel better sharing whats happening anyways.

This may be a good sign. The more stringent the suspension, the more serious the violation. When a seller gets a suspension, that account is often frozen and the seller finds they cannot list, sell items or even message customers.
An MC011 is usually a temporary restriction. It sounds like you have already provided info to eBay that they requested. This is the most important step. Also, if you posted eBay’s restriction email here, it might help posters give you better advice.
Good luck to you. I hope you are able to work this out.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to give a update. I got a reply 2 days later saying that they accepted my ID verification pictures and bank statement but not any of the requested item ownership/sending verification because they were screenshots and not actual files. I spent more time than I care to admit, compiling everything and acquiring acceptable order invoices or anything I could think I could use and finally got it all somewhat organized together.
Should be hearing back anytime now so hopefully will be reporting back soon with a update.
Should hopefully be hearing back soon.
