1. Did you have luck rerouting it back to you? I never tried to have it routed back there are simply too many variables to each situation especially if you sell internationally.
2. Is it possible to reroute it back to seller after submitting missing search request and advising post office to deliver to buyer? While I have never tried this I would expect the answer would be no or it would require a separate action if and when the package was located. If your initial request was to locate missing mail then that is what the PO is going to attempt to do. There is a separate form you can file to request a package intercept.
3. How long does missing mail search take to complete? It depends on where the package was last scanned. I don't have many of these but I believe my shortest response time has be 2-3 days for something that went missing in Kansas and as long as 2+ weeks during the holiday season, especially if the package was last scanned at a large metropolitan PO.

You can edit the search request. Will it work? I don't know, when I filled mine out I initially had the item sent back to me.
3. How long does missing mail search take to complete? It took about three weeks. This was a couple of years ago, I imagine it might take longer now.

Package found 3 days after missing package search request filed.
post office told me that if you want rerouting than you need to file package intercept like somone said .
