Messages page not working

Is anyone else having problems with their EBAY messages? I am unable to open any of them now as of 5-25-2025. Already read and unread. Is this something EBAY is working on??

Nope, was just responding to messages.  What happens when you try?

And are you using the app or the website, and on what browser and OS if you're on the website?

I was just sending messages and not having an issue.

The message page is now different and not responsive . If I click on the row … nothing happens and nothing is visible. It is impossible to read or respond or send any messages from the message page. However I have been able to access the page via seller dashboard now. But the regular page access doesn’t work.

I have discovered this is happening to others as well and the problem started on the same day as my issue.

Ok, so that's the mobile website view, looks like (on iOS).  Do you have the app on your phone?  It always works well for me.

Have you tried scrolling down below what you see there to see if the message box shows up lower on the page?  Have you tried tapping the little box icon next to the word Messages near the top to collapse the sidebar? (I'm just spitballing ideas, I haven't run into this.)

You can also see if requesting the Desktop version of the site works for you.  Click the "aA" button in the bar at the top, and look for an option that says "Request Desktop Website".  You're running a different version of iOS than I have on my phone, so I can't show you a screenshot of exactly what that would look like.

In addition to trying other browser modes (mobile, classic, desktop) or the eBay app, you might also try viewing your messages on ebay.ca instead of ebay.com.

If you have messages from members forwarded to your email (an option in your Communication preferences) that provides another way to read or respond to member messages.

Finally, try using another browser or another device to read your messages.

Hey @novacite83! We apologize about the issue you are experiencing with eBay messages via mobile. There is an open ticket to have this resolved under  ALERT15942.
