Messages- not seeing the left side

On my iPad I cannot fully see the menu (inbox, etc.) that should be visible on the left side of the new Messages page.  Sometimes none of the menu is visible at all.  How to I fix this?

Shrink the screen (down to 90%, 80% etc.)

I don't know if this will make a difference, but it's worth trying:

See the small arrow on the top? Click that to collapse the folder panel. Click it again to expand the panel.

Does that make a difference?

If not, check your view to make sure it's not zoomed in.

Maybe rotate the iPad between vertical / horizontal to see if that makes a difference.

Interesting results…

With the arrow pointing in either direction , I don’t see the menu correctly when the iPad is held in the landscape position.  
When I flip the iPad to the portrait position, I see only the menu when the arrow points left - and only the messages when the arrow points right.

Shrinking the screen or zooming does not resolve the problem of not seeing both sides at the same time.  My headers (if that’s what they are called) span the entire page width but the body does not.

If you don't mind sharing which version of iOS you're using and which browser, that could help @nyr134 .

Hi devon@ebay - see above for some funky behavior with new message format on mobile web. Would be great if you could send this thread to the product developers so they can look into it.

I am using Safari.  Version 17.7.1
