So I have a listing with a quantity of 20 EKG’s, an ebayer must have just created an account and joined because it shows august 22 of this year (1 day ago) with zero feedback, the member made an offer on all 20 in my listing which totals $700.00. I’m concerned to say the least. He/she made an offer of 5.00 below my listing. So 20x35.00. I listed at 40.00 or best offer.
any advice? It’s a member in the United States (Florida) I’m in Michigan

Your earlier repliers have good suggestions. Here is what I do: I always ask my buyers by an invoice or email, if they haven't paid immediately, to please pay eBay in full within two business days; and tell them that I will ship their purchase within two business days after eBay tells me they received payment in full. Then if the buyer hasn't paid within eBay's 5-day cancellation rule, I cancel the sale and the item is relisted. I may lose the 5 days of sale time, but I haven't been conned out of my goods. Also, as another note-- I also require the buyer to pay shipping with the purchase price, but I adjust my list price accordingly for U.S. priority shipment, so as to keep competitive -- Then the purchase can be shipped almost anywhere in the world but at the buyer's expense. -- So far this approach has worked O.K. for me ..... Whatever you do, good luck... and enjoy!

I completely agree. And if the OP was referring to an offer they received on a Gucci watch or graphics card, my response would be entirely different.

Seems a little odd that customer would not push to get "a great deal" considering they are purchase 20 EKG's. Usually if customer purchases "large volume" is because they want to "resell them" at higher price. Were these EKG's priced WAY BELOW market value?
Hard to say if you won't get "scammed" after you ship them. Customer can "reverse credit card charges" after receiving items (keep items and your money).

Not seeing ekg at $40, do see them at $44.99.
Maybe split the difference of their request for 20 pcs. Message them stating you presently only have 10. If they purchase you can see where they're going and perhaps feel more comfortable.
Sending ekg monitors to Florida doesn't surprise me, if there's any State where someone would want them in quantity it would be there! New buyers sign up all the time.

This is kinda long, so stick with me if any of these red flags are in your situation: I just got a message about a vintage (but needs total restoration) car and the member info says they joined just today with zero feedback (PLUS an ebay notation "no longer a registered user") with the message: "Hello before I make payment I’ll like you to get back to my fiancée with the picture of the vehicle (605) ***-****."
Many red flags (besides being a member for apparently only 2 hours!) : 1) poor use of English (OK, excusable I guess); ) "get back to my fiancee with the pictures..." --why not just share the link and and ask "Hey Honey, do you like this car?"; 3) random phone number shows up, which I assume is an attempt to make personal contact outside of ebay; 4) member data shows Nevada location, but phone # is in South Dakota, both of which are hundreds of miles from where the the car needs be picked up; 5) no questions about more details on the car itself.
Sorry to be so long, but I'm not responding to the question I got at all because it seems to have red flas bigger than the one in 'Les Miserables'.
