Our store has had a marked decline in sales since the major interruption that happened on the site on the 5th. Since then, our store has had days where we are selling less than half of our normal volume per day. We track our sales volume, both in items sold and in dollars very closely and have over two years of selling history tracked. We are speciality item that doesn't generally reflect normal "retail" sales patterns - So general market patterns will not apply to our store. What I can tell you for a fact is that the week of the 5th, we had a semi-normal weekend coming into the week - Monday and Tuesday our sales dropped to less than half our normal sales - Wednesday they went back to normal - Thursday they dropped to less than half of normal - and since then there has been a consistant decrease of approximately 20% per day in our total sales numbers. I have read other sellers posts concerning the sales patterns, but cannot seem to pinpoint an actual time of decrease for them. We can pinpoint our sales decrease to EXACTLY the time that Ebay was having issues or implementing updates or whatever happened on March 5th. Since then our sales have decreased and since stalled - not reflective in any way of our past performance. And although a 20% decrease per day may not seem all that large - keep in mind we have over 4000 listings.
My hope is that somehow someone can explain this change to us. If Ebay implemented new standards for search terms or guidelines, I would love to hear about them so that we can ensure that we are doing whatever we need to do in order to ensure our listings are being seen. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated - and even to see if anyone else has experienced this decrease in this same time period.
