Who all disagrees with the non-optional managed payments by E-bay.  Why can't we choose to have things stay the same.  My bank account information should not have to be shared with E-bay.  There are too many opportunities for that info to be hacked into (and we hear about that happening all the time.)  I already have it shared with Paypal--and I trust them more than most.

@kens-wife I've been selling on Etsy since 2019 and they already had Adyen in place when I got there. You can disagree 'til the cows come home but you're only hurting your own online sales and nothing else. Best of luck to you....

PP did NOT want to extend the contract- so there was nothing to work out. They made a decision and sometimes companies make those decisions and simply DON'T WANT TO work things out.

Adyen, the company that won the contract with Ebay, is the one that collects the transaction fees, not ebay. Ebay simply got paid by Adyen,  a lump sum for the right to do so for X amount of time. Ayden is also a world wide company and allow more people (countries that PP does not operate in (Sri Lanka for example) and more types of payments (apple pay, google pay).. believed to be more mainstream than the type of payments that PP

When I looked at the list of countries that Adyen worked with I did not see Sri Lanka on that list. Has that changed? I will see if I can find that list again since it was awhile ago that I checked it out.

Well, can you blame PP after being kicked in the butt by eBay twice?  ebay just didn't come up with a very usable solution.

Go into your local coffee shop and tell them you want to use bitcoin. See how far that gets you. You don't get to chose because it's not your business.

I switched yesterday, as it was the final date for me to maintain my account. I was pleasantly surprised that only the last four digits of my SS# were required and then more so when my free listings were increased to 250 + the 200 I had received for the month. For me, the sweet far out weighed the bitter.

eBay didn't give us a choice of using PayPal, so why would you think they'd give a choice on whether to switch to Adyen.

At least we then had some degree of separation of church and state, for lack of a better way to put it. And PayPal worked for me... I never had an issue with PayPal. And talk about having to stay on top of MP charges, and real-time figures....Yikes! Bury those nickels and dimes in all the fluff, eBay-
