I am upgrading ye ole mailbox. I was looking at this listing -- 222846989381
This box is 18x14x12.
My existing box is a stardard box, what they call a large rural box.
Before I buy this, I thought I would ask if anybody might know of one even bigger?
I will mount on my existing setup made out of 4x4's and will make a new platform for the new box.

I have that box, it's a nice one. Feedback on the item # kind of dismal. USPS shows it on its site at https://www.usps.com/packagemailbox/
I thought it was the largest approved available of this type. It holds a lot of incoming and outgoing packages.
Mine was purchased online from a large local retailer last year with free ship to home. If there was a problem like damage or missing parts I could have easily returned it to the store. Held up good to being dropped by a relative during installation.

If you are going to get something that sturdy why not get one that you can lock?

You are lucky you get a choice. We have community mail boxes. Tiny stupid things that cannot hold anything. And I'd want it to lock.

How does a locking box work out with different rural mail carriers?
It doesn't. Unless all you get is letters. Which would make the huge mailbox unnecessary.
There are bigger - search for Jumbo Mailbox. Though the one you picture is nice.

To the OP: you sound talented enough to just build your own mailbox that you could mount on the stand you are already planning to adjust.
I was just going to say the same thing. OP could maybe make their own. They sound handy. 🙂 There mght be some plans online for something handmade.

I would LOVE to have a nice jumbo mailbox, but having lost four over the years, I'm afraid it would be a target. One was lost to the county when it was hit by a mower. The county replaced it. Three have been lost to mailbox baseball I'm thinking something like this:

That box is for air mail only.
