Magazines

Is it legal to ship magazines using USPS media mail?   It appears many sellers do this, but certainly not all.  My research into USPS rules suggests magazines are not allowed to ship by media mail since they have advertising in them.

Re: Magazines

...I think USPS has to seize your package so they can send back to sender with a demanding of Postage Due...

...it's not only eBay where sellers abuse the shipping postage, another online selling platforms doing it as well, plus the regular residents...

...if an illegitimate Media Mail could reach to the end of its destination then USPS better took the blame for not well-trained or informed their own employees (clerks, mail-handlers, mail carriers...)...

How would the clerk know what I put in a 12x10x3 box?

The clerk might not know but the person on down the line who opens your package for inspection will. You have to ask yourself "do you feel lucky".  I know someone who abused Media Mail sending all kinds of stuff that didn't qualify and the Post Office made him bring all his packages to the Post Office open so they could inspect them and then he had to stand at the counter and seal them all back up so he could mail them.
