Magazine Listings

I am listing my multi year magazine collection, but listing the magazines individually is not getting any attention. I have noticed listings that offer a number of magazines and allow buyers to select individual issues at a flat price. I would like to try this method with some of my magazines, can anyone offer suggestions on how to set this up? Thanks very much.

You may have a combination of issues going on.

I does not appear you are putting them in the right category.  For example the one on comic books for sale, but you aren't putting them in the Comics category under Collectable art.

If you haven't already, you might do some research on the site and see what some other sellers of similar items are using as the categories.

Not everything is suited to Auctions.  You might try having some of them as Fixed Price listings and see how they do.  Test a few things out and see if it helps your sales.

Have you checked eBay's sold listings to see if there is actually any demand for those magazines?

In my opinion, auctions are no longer a good way to sell anything (there may be a few exceptions but not many).   People want "immediate gratifiation" and do not want to wait for an auction to end unless it's something very rare, and often you will only get one offer so end up selling for your opening bid.  For example, on your Star Trek magazines, you have an opening bid of $4.00 and if you look at completeds, that's about all they sell for anyway so buyers are not going to want to wait. 

You are better off to sell your magazines at a fixed price.  You might also try combining some issues.  Since magazines cannot be sent by media mail, it's sometimes more cost effective postage-wise to combine issues.

I have found that most magazines don't sell for much and I have had better luck selling them in lots, especially combining by year.

Some of the prices you're asking won't leave you with much after fees and shipping. Our cut off is around $16 moving up to $18 and soon, $20.

Selling in lots might be a better option. But shipping is killer. Are you familiar with shipping costs?

Magazines are not supposed to go media mail.

You could try to keep lots under 1 pound so they go 1st class (ground, now). Or maybe order some bubble flat rate envelopes and see how many you can fit in them.
