I manufacture jewelry and manage our second generation business. We're doing great pre COVID and successfully design, manufacture and give service to our online clients. Had large contracts. Unfortunately, things changed and all of our clients moved their manufacturing overseas. They asked us to service the merchandise but we didn't accept
We don't want to service and be responsible for overseas manufacturing. Not that I am affraid of hard work or our company isn't capable of handling the demand. I declined because of low standards of jewelry made overseas.
Then we moved exclusively to eBay. It's amazing results of 0 sales for past year on manufactured designs. My one of a kind pieces have much more success on eBay than my quantity listings. Same exact designs are still selling online at exclusive jewelry sites but not even one piece at eBay. Why is it? I tried few items at other sites and sold a few, but I don't want to go. This is my home and I need to make things right
I think there is an issue for 'Made in America' jewelry on eBay. If not supported by community, art of jewelry making will die in United States. Remember, same happened to watchmakers in 50s and 60s.

Seriously knowing how to sell is more important that what you are selling. It's the same skill.
I've sold postage stamps to collectors, solar panels, soda pop, wood stoves, diner food, patio furniture, books, sewing patterns, and tourist maps, and the best training I ever had on selling was from a real estate agent who used a textbook written for stock market brokers.
The trainer told us to "sell the cherry tree". If the buyer indicates that the cherry blossoms on the tree in the yard was attractive, the seller should be emphasizing the tree as often as possible.

Bravo to you for selling quality items that people ARE looking for. I would not buy about 3/4 or more of the junk jewelery that is sold on this site and the site is just crammed with this junk. YES, you are right, people will pay much more for a quality product on here. You keep doing what you do and forget about any of the junk that is on here, or selling junk. Few with quality jeweler items take chances selling on here becuase of the scam factor. But, mostly the sales are good with few scams. I wish you the best.

Beef up your store page with the fact that you are an artisan, that you have x years of experience, long history of jewelry sales, and a classy store front. You have absolutely great QUALITY items.

Yes, they need to get out front with their listings appearing higher in the search. So, they need to have the bells and whistles on, free shipping, free returns, 30 days returns, get into the top rated seller slot, use promoted listing or if they can afford it the ppc program. Beef up the storefront with who they are and what they do and how long they have been doing it. Sell the image of who they are.

Please continue making in USA. I would like to know how we can get Ebay to create a special filter so folks can know items are from USA/ America. Americans need to keep the US economy alive. At least give us a choice, a chance.
