MY NEW disclaimer to potential buyers on FIXED listings

Will be adding this into my description even though most buyers don't read.

Note: I end all my listings 1 day before they expire because ebay placed AUTOMATIC renewal and it costs me money to relist.  So please buy before the 29th day (or 36 hours prior to ending to be safe). Sorry for this inconvenience.

GTC is good to cancel.   Ebay now makes all listings auto renew after 30 days so it steals a sellers fees & makes it look like they have tons of items on their site.   The best is they should split ebay up into 2 sites EBAY NEW  & EBAY YARD SALE.    I would always sell in the Yard sale site..    I am not in competition with big retailers of new stuff

With that in mind, they should split into 4 sites... eBay big box, New small seller, quality collectible and yard sale "stuff"

Most on here were trying to help you.  It is not always helpful for others to tell you what you want to hear.

Just letting them know if they are watching till the last minute that I am killing the items because I may not want to auto relist right away or maybe it is a seasonal item which I do not want to sell because of a season change...  Some how you seem like one of those ebay employees that glosses over everything.

Waiting till the last minute is more of an auction tactic...I doubt anyone will care with a Fixed priced item.

I'm not trying to get into a spitting match with you.  I think anyone looking at your FB gets a very good idea of your abilities as a seller.

I think your heart is in the right place, but logically, it might backfire. Good luck.

^^THIS^^

I must be a really bad buyer - I've never once checked a fixed price listing to see when it ends.  I didn't even know it was a "thing".  Ending times are only important for auctions. When I see something I want to buy, I buy it.

But it all makes sense now after reading all these GTC threads - I always wondered why, when searching newly listed stuff a few days a week, I'd continue to see the same tired old stuff I'd already seen a zillion times before and had no interest in. Now I know.   Thank goodness I won't have to wade through all that stuff again, at least not for thirty days (hopefully).

But I haven't searched newly listed in ages, I search nearest zip first, so for me it really doesn't matter anymore.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Oh yeah I have seen it happen where people buy fixed price listings on the LAST DAY.

Will it put an end to all the dead listings?...only time will tell. Nothing is worse from a buying perspective seeing the same craap still up from years ago.

I see the same 2 Yearbooks from my High School that have been up for at least 5 years at a ridiculous $150 each. If GTC helps clear up these types of dead listings...I'm all for it.

Re: MY NEW disclaimer to potential buyers on FIXED listings

Buyers don't care. If it is fixed price when they see it they will buy it. One day early makes no difference whatsoever. I would remove all that from your description as it just distracts from what you are selling and makes you look bad.

That's unprofessional and negative. If you're determined to add this text, at least make it appropriate and put a positive spin on it so you attract sales instead of turning buyers away.

This listing will be available until Month, Date as I rotate my inventory seasonally (monthly, quarterly, etc) to offer you a great variety of merchandise. Grab it before it's gone!
