MPN

Hello, I'm in the process of listing a pack of iron-on transfer paper, and one of the required item specifics is the MPN number. I'm not sure what that even is or where it is. There are two numbers above and below the UPC code, would it be one of them? The number below the UPC code is also shown on the front of the package and labeled as "Item Number 662-923". Is that is by chance?

I found another listing that uses 982157 for MPN and 662-923 for Model

Always use the UPC number if it's on the product.

"MPN" is the abbreviation for Manufacturer's Product Number.

I would say that's it; yes. Your package dates from 2002, and the current products on the Office Depot website show item numbers without a hyphen in the middle, but they do still call them "Item Numbers" regardless, so I would go with 662-923 for yours.
