Hey everyone, so I recently moved and started unpacking some stuff so decided to sell excess stuff I had that I no longer needed. I have sold a few items and all have been delivered with no complaints but 2 days before my payout I got an email with the code MC011 and saying I need to show proof of purchase. How ever I don’t have any, these are things I’ve had accumulated through out the years. Some items are from my job that they gave me when they were upgrading equipment or things were soon to expire so ordered things with longer expiration dates. Confused as what to do any ideas or similar experiences and how it was handled.

A brand new account, selling a bunch of brand new items, yes, they'll want some kind of proof you own the items.

Since you were selling “brand new” items eBay wants to ensure a safe marketplace by having you provide proof that you owned those items you sold.
What do you mean “things were soon to expire”. Are you saying you were selling items that may be expired? That would be against eBay policy to sell anything that’s expired.

No they expire in a year. At work once it hits close to a year we get a new batch of items that usually won’t expire until 5+ years out.
