I pay eBay for my store and the benefits of having said store. My sales went up 110% last month because I finally started using the markdown manager and now a SUMMER UPDATE dictates to me when and for how long I can put MY items on sale!! This is a joke. If I rented and brick and mortar my landlord would never dream of dictating to me when I can put my items on sale and for how long. That 110% made eBay $380 dollars of my hard earned money not to mention the 2% paypal took. I noticed this discussion yesterday and also noted 1 person popping in and stating "we shouldn't be putting our items on sale all the time". This must be the seller I am about to cut to the quick in prices because now when a savvy shopper goes in to look at what a similar or same item is selling for they will see my item at a stupid low price while yours sits and grows grass.
I am disgusted and will not be renewing my store subscription next month. It is useless. I am also finding half the time I can not even see how many views I have had on one item but there are watchers on a 0 viewed item??? Get it together ebay because once I unload all this inventory I am outa here!! For $39.99 a month I can have my own site, accept PayPal and just use social media to get the sales. I will be happy to pay the 1.5% payment fee and save hundreds of dollars a month and not have some entity tell me how and when to price my items.
I better get back to work lowering my prices.

Poster should really read the board a bit before starting new threads.
This has been addressed numerous times and was in the last seller update.
The items you have listed - have they been live on the site for at least 2 weeks.
If not then you cannpt put them on sale.
This is because other sellers were listing at the manufacturers suggested price or some other high price and then 30 minutes later slashing it by 50% and pretending it was a sale.
Yes there are a problems with views, but views are immaterial. Your items are being seen. What matters is if a buyer actually clicks on your item and buys it.
Ebay is not for everyone. But no other site is going to reach the vast amount of people this site does.
No one's personal website, unless your name is iconic, can compete, imo.

First my post was under Discussions for SELLERS. You are a buyer. Second, I did mention that I knew this topic was discussed prior. Third, as a SELLER I have the right to discuss anything I want and desire an opinion from other SELLERS about. So altough you do contribute to ebay by purchasing you remarks really don't mean a thing to me nor are they helpful in any way. But.... I must ask you this... when you go into a store, car dealership, see a home you might be interested in and a SALE has been posted about it do your FIRST ASK THE SELLER HOW LONG WHAT EVER IT IS YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HAS BEEN ON THE MARKET? If you find that it has not been listed as long as you think it should try to dictate to them how long they should keeo it at the higher price before they mark it down? I highly doubt it. I imagine like most people you noticed the word SALE!!
When I list I check average active selling price and then average sold price. I list my item somewhere between and then if it is not getting the attention I need I place it on sale be it 3 days or 3 months. And as far as the "views" I would get here verses anywhere else I can hear AMAZON AND ETSY slamming doors and fireing people as I type.

I am a buyer and a seller.
I just use different accounts to do so.
What does a car dealership have to do with ebay.
It was an announced change.
And if you want to put the blame anywhere, put it on your fellow sellers who tried to game the system.
And since you know it was discussed before, join one of the already numerous threads.

I agree with everything you have said.
Thanks for voicing it. Even if others don't want to hear it.

I also agree. I see no reason why the change was made. It was not broken, why the fix? Very disappointing. No point putting my items on sale anymore. I had no complaints before.

My speaking or shutting up is not going to change the fact that you never should have neen doing it and now you cannot do it.
Either deal with it or not.

Nope not wrong. Google is your friend to see the difference between a legal and an illegal sale.
And as posted in another thread, sellers who feel they can do whatever they want is what caused all of us to suffer these changes.
So it is us who should be indignant not you and the poster above you.
