MAC photos computers incompatible with selling on ebay. Error message, no photo download,

Just a note to let you all know......I have been a mac user forever. Originally you could edit and download your photos directly from your Mac. I have been having problems for at least 5 years! I decided to get a new macbook pro to see if the problem was fixed. NOPE DIDN'T FIX MY PROBLEM! I called apple and they snobishly told me that it is up to the website to contact them so that the photos works with ebay. OBVIOUSLY ebay is not going to do any extra leg work so a Mac is incompattible with selling on ebay unless you want to edit your photos on your Mac, save listing as a draft and then use your phone to download your photos. WHAT A JOKE! By now I would think this would be streamlined. I thought Apple was cutting edge. I am so irritated with Apple being so restrictive. I have been an apple user for 20 years but that is all coming to an end today. My new mac didn't solve anything! Same problem, my photos ended up with error messages. Why does it work on my phone to download but not my computer? Come on Apple.....really......If you have all sorts of rules nobody is going to want your product in the future. The customer service rep said that it is my choice for leaving apple but why wouldn't I? They are selling a product that is unusable whether thru restrictions, or their coding. Figure it out Apple! You are cutting edge no more! I purchased this thinking it would fix my problem but the problem is APPLE. SO DISSAPOINTING!

I'm a mac user also (and have been since the Lisa came out). I have no problems uploading photos to ebay.

I mostly take photos with my phone. From there they go into google photos and then I download them to my imac, crop them and reduce their size, then upload them into listings. Or I use my camera and transfer the photos to my imac, crop & reduce, and upload them.

Yes I can use my phone too.  I just can't download from my Mac...This creates multiple steps.

I don't want to spend 2 grand on a computer that doesn't work.  I am just letting users know because I couldn't find any information on my issue.  Surely I can't be the only one.  I don't want to use my phone.....I should be able to use my computer.  Its like getting a new car but you cant drive straight to your destination.    It requires extra steps before you can go.  Who wants that?  I am not willing to jump through hoops just to stay with apple.

I am completely not understanding your process here.

You are downloading your photos from somewhere on the internet? I have the feeling that you are using some terms incorrectly (download). You can definitely use Macs on ebay. Ebay works through web browsers, it does not care what operating system you are running. It even works on tablets and Unix systems.

Please go over your complete photo process, starting with what you are taking the pictures  with. Something in your process is wrong. The fact that it followed you from one computer to another just doubles down on that.

Also, Macs are personal status symbol PCs. The business world does not use them at all outside of graphic arts and some audio areas.

Also, most full time sellers do almost no photo editing. Overly editing your photos is a time sink that leads to your items actually looking better than they are which leads to increased item not as described claims. I usually crop the first photo and I might hit that magic wand button in the listing section if the lighting or contrast looks bad. That is it. 

I never load ebay photos into any sort of actual photo editing software despite the fact that I am quite skilled with them.

I use a Mac for ebay and have been for the last 22 years without any problems.

I take pix with my iPhone & transfer them automatically over to my iPad.

easy Peasy then in 1 second transfer them to eBay item I’m listing.

I have a Macbook air from 2018.  I cant use the photos software to upload my photos to ebay.  I have to save my listing as a draft on my macbook then go use my phone to download the photos.  I shouldn't have to make an extra step with a brand new computer.  The apple guy told me that ebay needs to contact apple to make the adjustments so this would work.  Well Ebay isn't going to bother.  I am frustrated with Apple's issues.....especially since I can use my phone but not my mac to upload the photos.  What is the difference, why can i use my phone but my mac just spins, and spins and then says image error.

Why are you complaining here instead of to Apple as you seem to be mad at Apple rather than Ebay? Exactly what error messages are you seeing? If you can give us some detail about steps you are taking and what goes wrong (and at which point) then possibly some other Apple users can help you.

I disagree.  I am cropping the photos and maybe adding a bit of exposure for dark photos.  I have been a seller since 2000 so maybe your group of sellers are different but you have to crop photos to make them fit the tiny search images.  If your item is hardly seen because it is uncropped you won't get as many views.

That is not what i was told today.  I just bought a brand new macbook pro 2022.  My photos have errors and the tech guy told me it wouldn't work unless I moved my photos to my desktop before trying to download them.  No thanks.

Yes that is great but I want to use the photo editing on my Mac.  not a tablet.  not a phone...
