So I couldn't work out why my Top rated seller rating was in jeapordy, it never showed the reason in my seller dashboard. It just showed a red (3) telling me how my discount was being reduced to 10% instead of 20% (which is totally disrespectful btw!) Sent 99% of all my items that I had sold on time?? No negative feedbacks...only 1 return. Still said I was getting 20% discount, even though I had dropped to 'Above standard'...then lo and behold...on bill paying day...no discount...discount says 'none'...so now it says why I have lost my 'Top rated seller status' ~~Because I failed to add tracking to 1 item~~....a ring. However the reason for that is, that the buyer had actually bought two rings from me, so I had combined the shipping, they were both in the same package and shared the same tracking number....hence eBay would not let me add the same tracking number on two items....just one of them.
This is crazy! And no offense to the foreign nationals I speak to, to gain assistance by calling eBay, but...a lot of the time, I get stuck with someone who has a strong foreign accent, in some foreign land...and we both cannot understand each other. Hearing their robotic responses get's old too...ugh, so fed up 😞 I work hard, try hard and get rewarded with my Top seller status being removed...losing my discount...and if I do get it back, now it's been reduced from 20% to 10% (a slap in the face)...I kept up with all the requirements...and they still found a way to screw me over again, this isn't the first time, seems like something else every month...But im a small fry. I've read worse stories than mine on here...
so here's my opinion:
Right here is an opportunity for some clever coding and tech people to create an Auction website, to rival eBay, with financial backing and hard work...its do-able! But an Auction/selling website that serves it's sellers better, and also protects buyers at the same time. Surely its about time?? I see and hear Horror stories about what eBay does to its Sellers.... I mean Amazon and Etsy are good...but just not the same! eBay needs a 'TRUE' rival! It may be the only way, that they might start treating sellers better...if they have a proper competitor!
I am pretty bloody angry...but what can I do? I mean if you get fed up with your Ford...you can drive a Chevy or an Audi....or loads of other companies who do the same thing...
If the Internet was Henry Ford...his old saying about the Ford model T "you can have any color as long as its black" would be changed to "you can sell you stuff online as long as it's eBay". Yes their are other auction/buy it now websites out there...but they are a joke! Such a shame...technology changes and improves daily. But we are stuck with the same ole...and it's going downhill daily...
So back to square one I guess...
