First of all I want to thank eBay for waiving fees for Ukrainian sellers for such long time. Also I would like to apologize for my English grammar.
I live in Ukraine and I became a seller in May. I was recommended by Ukrposhta, because eBay offered a solution to earn some money for Ukrainians.
eBay started a promotion which waived fees for all Ukrainian sellers, including promoted ads.
Before I started using the promoted features, I asked on Twitter on eBay about promoted ads. I was surprised that I could set my promoted ads to 100% and not take any fees for it. I started selling at 100% ads rate. I got more orders, but I made sure that I satisfied all buyers. I have only 100% positive feedbacks since day one and kept all buyers updated.
Because this promotions always starts at 1st of each month and ends at 1st of next month (https://i.imgur.com/MhcOq0u.png), I checked today, 1st October about my selling summary. I noticed that since 20 September, eBay has removed free promoted ads fee and I was paying 100% fees in everything I sold since that day. Everything I sent since 20 September was for free.
I tried to contact on Twitter about it, but they said nothing can be done because eBay announced in August in a post (spkl.io/60104nywI) that ad fees will be collected starting 9th September. Screenshot of conversation: https://i.imgur.com/fqH2vJC.png
I received no warning regarding this. My selling hub showed as normal, that selling fees are waived until 1st October. Also under the selling announcement there was no such post regarding promoted ads. There was no chance I would find that post which was linked in Twitter, because I never even visited that page. I think for such important thing, there shoulder be more clear warning about this so we could avoid this big loss.
Since 20th September I have sold for about $4000 US dollars worth of goods, and eBay collected $4000 fees from me. Everything was sent for free. For this amount of money, counting that I only have 10-15% profit from my sales, I have lost all my profit and more selling on eBay. This is an example of one sale: https://i.imgur.com/BWDIQbv.png
I didn't even ask for eBay to refund all of the fees, but at least lower it so I did not spend all last half year just to lose most of my money but was refused. I wonder if something I can do to get someone to help me.
I know some of other Ukrainian sellers also had this problem, about not noticing the change. I hope we all will receive some support.
