Loss of Classic View

Customer Service suggested I post my thoughts here regarding eBay's recent change of format, specifically, the Active Listings page.

The new format takes much too long to view all listings.

Questions from buyers are not displayed on a listing - ridiculous.

Time remaining is not prominently displayed.

We don't need giant-sized photos of our items.

The shipping calculator seems to have disappeared.

The previous format was much more concise and efficient.

Scheduled listings are no longer displayed on Active listings page.

I'm sure there are other features missing but since the old format has disappeared, have nothing to compare.

Altogether, the new format is hot mess.

Most sellers prefer the Classic View.

I tagged your post. (New all selling page).  You will see that there are many many angry sellers in regards to eBay's new selling page. I have seen a few sellers actually pull down their listings over this...

Check out all of the tagged posts. Some of them are extremely well written and concise.

I agree with the others I am totally frustrated with the new view. Please, please restore the classic view.

Re: Loss of Classic View

The old format was excellent, very understandable
I don't understand why this happens
missing awaiting for shipping, I can forget and it will be for problems
hopefully they change as before

Re: Loss of Classic View

I agree 100%. It was one click and you could go about your business, get the information you were looking for, or like to look at, or need to look at, all with one click. The computer gives humanity the ability to have this commerce we have on eBag. The computer is a processor. We take out the information we want hopefully  quickly. eBag just made in harder and much more time consuming to get our information. Just like if when into Macy's Herald Square looking for widgets they say go to the 8th floor, on the 8th floor they have 4 widgets going to the 7th floor for more and so on then when you have seen all the widgets go to 9th floor to pay but the bags will be on the 3rd floor in a storage room. Thanks for shopping hope you enjoyed you tour

They also did away with the quick listing tool. You can no longer load pics directly from your phone to a listing you are creating on your computer. Senior management has to answer our questions.

I'm not surprised that they directed you to post your thoughts here.

That's a much more customer friendly way of saying "tough luck, deal with it".

This is by for the best translation I have seen in regards to this.

It was on the community chat with eBay's team...CHECK OUT THE LAST PARAGRAPH...

hurryagain_1-1616660184781.gifIf this last paragraph does not sum it up perfectly, I don't know what else would...LOL!!!

Don't get me wrong...I am still peeved about it but to see someone tell it to the team in this manner really gets the flavor of how dismissive their canned responses were to us.

Re: Loss of Classic View

Great. Sellers always take in the ***.

I was only hopeful because I persisted in requesting that the packing slips be restored to include the buyer's address. When that change was made and the buyer's information was removed I couldn't believe it. For me, the main reason to include a packing slip is in the event the contents become separated from the shipping box. If the address is not on the packing slip, reuniting the contents with the box might be impossible. Customer Service didn't seem to understand this concept. But every time I printed a label, I included a comment on the "what do you think of this page" section. Perhaps others did too. It took a long time, but buyers' addresses have now been restored to the packing slips. If there's a "what do you think of this page" section anywhere on any of the new selling pages, will start leaving caustic comments once again. Perhaps there is hope.

Re: Loss of Classic View

Totally agree, this new format is a mess and is ridiculous.  I know, they will say try it and work with it and it will get easier, but I have done so for over a week now and it is much harder to use.  It doesn't remember settings, like I just want to see my auction items that are selling right now.  When I look at one specific item and then hit the back button, it goes back to the original format and I have to filter it again to see just the items with bids.  I have over 300 items listed at any one time.  Who wants to see just 5 or 25 items at a time.  Bring back the Classif view, please!!!!!!!
