Unable to "message buyer" from the order page with a website. I can still do this via the app.
Tried multiple browsers, no joy.
Just takes me to the inbox instead of a new message to the buyer. Even tried directly from their profile as if I was asking a question. Again, unable to send a message via web browser interface.
Once I sent a message via the app, I was able to follow up on the web browser with a second message. (I usually attach photos when packaging items)
This had better be short lived. Its bad enough they had to change it from "contact buyer" to "message buyer". I mean.... Why????
That kind of change is just.. Dumb. Sorry to say, but I'm irked. When I NEED to use it, its busted all to hell. Grrrrr
Anyway. Just an FYI.

@gator08041971 @cpbseller11 With the new format it takes you to the inbox, but you'll see the other person's ID at the top as it's initiating a message to that person. Just click inside the box at the bottom where it says 'send message' and start typing. Then click the paper airplane when you're done.
EDIT: Wait a minute - it is buggy right now.
I can message you from your listing, but if I go through feedback page and select "this is not about an item" it is not initiating a message.
And yeah, just tried "message buyer" and its not even loading the inbox correctly. Definitely buggy right now.
Edit again to say sorry for the assumption. So many posts lately from people not realizing it initiates a new message within the inbox (when it's working).
I suggest anybody experiencing this submit a tech report. It's really easy to do with the newer function eBay added, explained here. You don't even have to go through CS. The more people reporting, the quicker eBay will notice.

Nope. Tried that. Still not working. Does not even give me the option to start a message. I'm trying to contact one of my buyers.

I am experiencing the same issue. Thanks for sharing that message the buyer is working via the app. I used the app successfully to message my buyer.
ETA I reported the issue from the message page by clicking on the ? in the lower right-hand corner of the page.

Yeah, I knew how to send messages, but yep, its busted and that method doesn't even show up. lol
Hopefully they will fix it soon.
Use the app on a mobile device, you can still send that way.

I was just helping a buyer who wanted extra pictures.
I first responded to them on the app on my phone, and once I got to my PC and I gave them pics and responded via my PC.
Are you saying you aren't able to do this?

Yes, I'm having the same trouble. My buyer added a comment to their order. So they had not messaged me. I was going to reply to their comment...I clicked "Message Buyer" and this is what I got.

Yeah, right now, the only way to initiate a new message with someone is via the App on a phone or tablet. Till they get this fixed, which I hope is soon.

It's weird! It may be cycling in and out of that bug. I just went to report it and when I clicked "Message Buyer" again, I got the normal page and was able to send a message.
