Looking for Complete Archive of Seller Updates

I am looking for a complete archive of eBay Seller Updates from when they were first issued.

Many seem to be missing or if you can find them they link to current pages which have nothing to do with the actual update.

Some years have a Spring and Fall update while other years these titles are not used and instead they are simply called the First, Second or Third Seller Update.

Some years only one update such as the Fall can be found while the Spring update can't be found.

Anyone have a list of these updates so I know what is missing?

There is a partial list here. See drop down. Seller update goes back to 2021

I think in some cases it's a bit of getting rid of the evidence when older ones that were never implemented fully happen. Something that happens on dot ca as a matter of routine. You can try a google search but you may run across the same thing with links not functional.

As a side I have had former buyers returning, looking for more inventory. They were able to send me a link to my original listing from several years ago. When I go through my history of old listings would get the error message. eBay and historical data are 2 things I have learned not to use with total optimism!!! 😉

I'm not sure what it is you are trying to accomplish but it is unlikely that what you are seeking is the best way to learn about changes.  Ebay has never announced all their changes.  Over the years something that was changed a few years ago gets changed again a few years later.  So studying the older changes will likely be just a waste of time and only cause confusion.

What are you trying to accomplish?  If we understood that, it would be easier to help you.

Re: Seasonal announcements

From a personal perspective I just preview those announcements to see what is "possibly" coming down the pikes. I know once/if/when it arrives in Canada it will be a shadow of how it was described. In many cases they are like carrots being dangled in front of us totally out of reach. Canadian's are still waiting for the option to offer coupons. We just keep hearing it's in the works with no timeline for it to magically appear. It took as over a month to get the option to show discounted shipping. (In comparison to dot com.) The eBay calculator is still not fully functional on ca and we didn't get the option to select services we wanted to apply. (For some sellers they may have a different(better) discount for a courier compared to what eBay can offer).

When you see those announcements the first question to ask is will something be useful or applicable to your business? When they do arrive the most important thing to do is test. Second is test. After that test further...Just to be sure it is working as intended.

As for historically my guess some users review for entertainment value. Basically to see what we got and if it does/did work as intended. Or never actually did arrive.

PS. One other reason someone may be curious what was in a past announcement is to confirm what they previously read so they know they are not losing their mind. I know I have done that on wayyyy too many occasions.  In my almost 20 years of eBay I have gone from Afro to cue ball in the hair department scratching my head trying to stay current with "eBay's tinkering under the hood."

When eBay customer service was asked why these updates have been deleted from eBay they replied that this was due to the updates being hosted on PayPal.

Yeah Right!

It is unlikely that historical announcements will tell you much of anything about what is to come.  Now more current announcements could.

Ebay offers incentives for sellers to use certain tools, but they aren't required.  They also offer certain incentives for sellers that reach certain milestones in our stats.  All pretty normal stuff and part of a companies structure to inspire their work force [not that we are employees].  It isn't solely an Ebay thing.

As fast as things change around here and many with no announcement at all, old info is likely more confusing as ever as it doesn't represent current Ebay.

That is simply BAD information.  Paypal has never ran Ebay.  In fact it was Ebay that owned PayPal until June of 2015.

While this by no stretch of the imagination all things that have changed over the years, maybe this will help you accomplish whatever it is you are trying to accomplish.

I previously checked that, but it only goes back a few years.

Actually it was your typical scripted lie eBay customer service routinely deals out to its users.

Three different reps from three different accounts used the exact same copy and paste answer.

Having nearly 25 years online sales has made me quite familiar with eBay lies.

Who said I was interested in what was to come?

Just interested in the date certain policies were put into place.

Just looking for some sources to reference to document the date of certain practices being implemented, which usually tied to one of their infamous updates.

What policies are you wanting to know about?

Have a great day.
