I sold a $500 item, eBay says the customer has paid for it, and I've contacted the customer asking him when he wants to pick up the item. But he hasn't replied. It's approaching 24 hours. Seems odd.
Anything I should do?

My kneejerk reaction is to relax, since it's only nearing one day. You have the funds... if the buyer doesn't collect, you can refund and relist.

Maybe he saw that you offered the option of having it shipped. Did his payment include the shipping fee?
Also sometimes that Local Pickup thing sails right past the buyer's head.

It only has been one day. Just send daily reminder messages & be prepared to provide a date & time for the pickup. If it goes beyond one week, then send one final reminder message & then issue a refund & relist the item.
Good luck!

Are you sure the buyer chose the local pick up option and not the shipping option?

@pedzsan I always check the details on the sales order. If the customer is in a foreign country, I send a message asking them to confirm a date and time for pickup. I also ask If they chose Free Local Pickup in error, please respond to this message with a request to cancel. They can then repurchase with the correct shipping option.
Otherwise, I wouldn't worry. Most people aren't checking their ebay accounts as often as sellers do. Also, many set their account to not receive emails unless they are required because they get inundated with emails from ebay and sellers.
As mentioned, if they don't respond within a week of purchasing, I would refund and relist.

Just call your customer, and ask them.

Oh heck yes. The number should be in the Order Details of the sale.
Today is Friday. They may be planning to collect it on the weekend.

Just FYI: Customer never contacted me. I've tried to email him twice. eBay has sent me the payout already (which complicates things). Not sure what to do at this point. I'll keep trying to email him.
