So I sold an item to a bidder with 1 feedback - and they paid for the item but no shipping, selecting local pick up. They are from another state. No response to my attempt to arrange pick up. Do I just cancel and refund? I think it is so rude when someone ignores your message! If it is a scam, I'm glad I didn't immediately give my phone and address, just stated when I was available and asked to pick a date, then I would forward address.

Which item was it? A buyer with only 1 FB may not have read the local pickup or may not have understood what it meant.
Depending upon when you sold the item, you could give them a few more days, and then I'd cancel and refund, citing problem with buyer's address.

If there's an eBay Order, your information is on it. I don't see any Sold 'Local Pickup' items sold under this ID. Good luck.

Thanks I do think this ebayer did not understand what local pickup is, though it seems self-explanatory -- I did write again and will give them a few days. Obviously they are thinking that the shipping is free, as they sent the payment with "free shipping". I just wish they would give the courtesy of a reply! Thanks for your help!

If they purchased an item from you their phone number should be available to you. I have had this happen and a simple phone call resolved the problem.

Update - I did get a response from the buyer "Cancel - too far to travel". LOL! It was an easy step, Ebay cancelled and refunded. Also relisted the item - twice! Had to go delete one of them. Then I checked to make sure they didn't refund twice! (they didn't). Thanks for all the replies, great to see them!

This is getting extremely frustrating to be honest. I have listed several items for Local Pickup and I get 2-3 orders a day that I HAVE to cancel because they are from all over the country. I reached out to eBay and their advice was to add LOCAL PICKUP ONLY in caps to my item descriptions but this is making no difference.
I am also afraid this is going to impact my seller's stats because not 1 of these orders has been fulfilled, they have all been canceled selecting the "Issue with buyer's address" reason. Talking to all these buyers for no reason is such a waste of time, what is the purpose of listing as a Local Pickup in Florida and having your item shown to someone in Washington state, it makes no sense to me.

I have stopped selling anything here for "Local Pickup," I get far more sales I have to cancel than actual good ones that way, it's a royal pain in the you know what... Not sure why ebay doesn't do something to fix this but it's been this way as long as I can remember (in fact it has gotten worse over the years).
